This response on youtube pretty much sums up my thoughts:
"how well will that work if a truck went right into a biker"
But how much more would it work on a track when the riders are going even faster? It's not to save your whole body, hence the fact it's only around the kneck.

I think this is ok for racing and thats where its gonna be thoroughly tested first way before the street.
Weight isn't really an issue on the road so i think it should be bigger protecting the heart and vital organs.
Andrew, injuries involving the heart are not a great cause of rider injuries. Usually, the spine and head are the two areas which are seriously impacted in motorcycle crashes.
The design of the Dainese system reflects this reality, however, this is not to say I do not think an expansion of the D-Air system to protect the heart would not be beneficial.

Pfft .... squids that ride on the road thats what I say. If your gonna ride to where you need full leathers then take it to the track, I don't even ride on the street anymore.

I wonder what triggers the air bag to open up. Can you imagine the scene if it were triggerred inadvertanty?
imagine, rossi wins, and stoner gives him a slap on the back on the podium to say well done.....BANG!
off goes the D-air and everyone else pisses themselves laughing....
or pedrosa crashes in phillip island and the strong wind catches him and blows him halfway to brisbane....

The Eurosport commentators said that they had been developing this for years and it only works at specific times and has the technology to not open when they wobble etc. Other companies didn't think they would be able to do it, but they did.
Or something like that..

how about this then...
how many bike crashes involving trucks crashing into bikes compared to bikers wussing out mid corner and standing it up and going straight on off the road?
i would still rather have one on because when you need it, you need it BADLY!....
and name me one thing that would work if you got smacked by a ....... truck......apart from a good surgeon and physiotherapist....
