Lets just all agree not to quote him for those that have him on ignore. I bet he is pissing himself laughing at some of your reactions.
 
I just do not get the trolling thing. Andy you've done it for fun, what's the pleasure for the troll?


 


Anyway, its just off-season crap and ultimately its been pretty entertaining, the forum's been a lot busier since the crazy bird landed. No harm done folks!

He's harmless, notice how he doesn't respond to personal insults, he's a rule player, stick to the game, dis Lorenzo and everyone as a coward, give away no personal information, commit to little in the way of opinion and just be contrarian.


 


If I troll I say thing that are offensive (but self depreciating - not to harm others) until I get banned.

In regards to his trolling; have to admire his persistence, that he seems to be able to be massively repetitive without appearing to get bored (but it's been slipping a little recently) and his ability to keep a straight face.


Now, I'm just waiting for the denouement...

This forum is great because we can all post our opinions, but when it gets to be pages of bs from someone who doesnt appreciate others opinions and just his, it gets annoying.

People aren't necessarily resistant to moderation but they are resistant to change.

How about just telling us who the dupe account belongs to, if indeed it does belong to a regular?


 


I've seen name & shame work wonders before.
 
The IP address used is masked by a proxy, so no way of matching to an existing user.


 


Andy, no change to resist - mod's have been on the site since it's inception near enough.  It's only because cuntgate occurred that it was thrust into the realms of discussion again.  Today's news, tomorrow's chip paper.


 


I just find it odd that the people who were so against moderation are now calling for a ban!

Easy - the 'if you can't take the .... we dish out, you aren't worthy' ethic of  number of people here.


 


Which is, of itself quite funny, because if they get even a modicum of the ..... they throw at others, they just explode in outrage.


 


Before I started posting I read through a lot of threads (spare time on my hands...) and the number of 'newish' members that were just plain hounded out by a cabal of members for having the temerity to voice an opinion is really surprising.


 


Sure, they may have made a ...... up post or two, but people do say stupid .... sometimes - no need for the complete and utter vilification they received.


 


A lack of moderation of tone is responsible, IMO. I don't care about bad language, but the way some people on here speak to others would get them a punch in the throat if face-to-face. And it seems the 'I write more therefore I am more right' ethic is very much in evidence. 


 


People just give up in the face of such outward antagonism and vilification.

I have been a member of many different forums of varying topics. both as a regular member and as a mod, and I can tell you this guy is a terrible troll.  Yes, he is persistent, but he is way to repetitive, and is not original in the least bit.  I have seen some trolls that just slay me in the how they function.  Trust me, this guy is not a good troll in the least bit.
 
Bandwidth saver? I'm not sure I understand, although I do agree with your post.


 


In particular:  1) you don't have to read everyone's posts, 2) you don't have to reply to anything, 3) you don't have to take anybody seriously.


 


They are good rules, but it's hard to always remember them when you have some guy at your throat :)


 


Zoot is... how do I put it without him telling my wife I'm being an arse... excitable. :) But he is also a person with access to a ridiculous amount of information. He takes things to heart, but he doesn't tend to go on unless he is confident he knows what he's talking about. And he's more often right than wrong. Pity he doesn't visit more often, but I guess he is pretty busy - he works, I just bum around.


 


Unlike me... I don't know ...., officially. Nothing to show for any learning I have done, but I am always learning. I guess that's what leaving school at 15 and wasting your opportunities does for you - always playing catch up. I'm definitely to the left hand side of '..... savant'.
