Crutchlow about to bolt Moto GP

Wtf has this limey .... done to make demands?

well, i wont comment on all that, but one thing is clear, he went to the right man for help. Right Rossi? St. Ezy Clause handing out factory bikes to loud mouth mid-packers, so Cal should get something. http://www.powerslide.net/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/.....gif

If you are interested, the following details the differences between a WSBK bike and a stock bike - over 30 pages of technical regs/allowable mods.

Thanks alot man, Enjoyed reading every page of it. But I don't know if it will match the costs of designing a new prototype from scratch and updating it. That is one of the reasons Motogp is the pinnacce of motor racing.and therfore it is harder to manage its costs. because it depends on the latest technologies available in the factories.

and again. thanks for the article.

There seems to be quite a lot of people on this thread saying Cal doesnt deserve a better ride going on his results against Dovi and while i agree you are only as good as your last race and are judged by it how on earth is Rossi eligable for the factory ride using this formula?this just goes to show the level of hypocrocy in moto .... pig.Stoner and Spies going cos of the ........ and now Cal what a croc of .... moto gp has become.

Does the expression 9 times world champion ring a bell? Everyone assumes that Rossi will be competitive on the M1 once again.

Bare in mind - I'm not a Rossifarian - so save the bopper accusations for the the deserving ones. I think he will be in the hunt again.

http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/183104/2/yamaha_explain_valentino_rossis_return.html

“I can say that Carmelo [Ezpeleta, Dorna CEO] had no influence whatever in the entire process. I have never discussed Valentino Rossi's return with Carmelo still to this day.

just sayin'.. I know one can say it's a ........ cover or whatever but this is coming from the horse's mouth..

Sometimes you have to make sacrifices to compete at the highest levels. Tech3 just can't afford big salaries - they couldn't even afford the top Brembo's until some kind benefactor stepped in and paid for them.

If Crutchlow isn't getting what he thinks he's worth, I am sure there are some damned fast kids in Moto2 that would happily take €150,000 a year to race for such an illustrious outfit.

As to the danger, I have a friend who does 20-day 'wet' dives working laying oil pipes. That job is hellishly dangerous and paid well, but he is only getting a similar amount to Dovizioso.

A lot more deep divers die than MotoGP riders and the career duration is similar.

It's all relative.

But the diver guys don't get umbrella girls. That's gotta count for something.

Apparently Valentino covertly approached Yamaha himself....not to say that Jarvis hadn't been fluttering an olive branch in his general direction for months prior to this.

I have already added my view of the situation to this thread and it was largely biased toward Cal. However having taken a different perspective, and this is as a fan of Cals, I am more than a little exasperated by his conduct regarding his salary. It should be noted, that despite both factory rides being taken by other riders, he shot himself in the foot when he started talking about this ride and that, and contracts about to be signed and what his preference of ride should be. The lad has form, and as entertaining as he is to listen to, he can't start complaining when rides aren't forthcoming. I want him to stay, but if he wants a pay rise then why does the MotoGP watching public need to know about it? He should pack his bags and hop on a WSBK bike.. Its a pretty simple concept i would have thought.

1. Cal is jealous. He says as much when he goes on about "racing against guys who are cruising around in limos every week". However it is easy to see why he feels hard done by considering he is doing the same profession, and at a level that is extremely close to his competitors level of craft.

2. If he feels he would be better compensated elsewhere, then he should take that opportunity. He should not however turn to the worlds media hoping that throwing his toys out the pram will magically make funds appear. His approach is pure fantasy. What he requires is some lucrative personal sponsorship, and every outspoken rant at the system only serves to weaken him as a marketing proposition. As much as I like the guy, I'd wonder if I was his benefactor, how long until he'd publicly be slating me. After all, as well as he has done in MotoGP, I'd say there were riders more deserving of his ride than him when he started riding a Tech 3. Way to bite the hand that fed you.

3. To bemoan your earning power publicly, when the majority of your audience earn over £100'000 less than you, doing the job that you absolutely adore, and in what is the worst recession in recent memory, it leaves a bad taste in ones mouth. He earns more than most doctors in the U.K. And thats off the back of him being outperformed by his team mate consistently all season.

There are ways to go about such things. Its usually behind a pair of large mahogany doors.

Excellent post!

Well thought and said so much better than I ever could!

I do enjoy watching Cal race and would love to see a Brit do well 'but with how things are it is time to not be greedy.i agree with the above post

You guys have Doctors??

I didnt know that.

We've been told by Republicans, that all you have is Apothecary's handing out charms and leeches

WTF is a Republican? Is it some kind of American tobacco brand? haha

Over here we have something called the NHS, which is essentially a government funded culling of the street peasantry suffering from the Black Death.

The death of MotoGP is upon us LOL. So, I guess it will be reduced to Rossi vs. Lorenzo next year. Ok season 2013 over already. Time to pack everyone up and Move to SBK.

That’s what I said "The death of MotoGP is upon us" and the 2013 and beyond motogp circus will be a Val & JLo show with Pedro being the court jester, what a tragedy motogp has come to since Dorna (Dorna Sports is an international sports management, marketing and media company, founded in 1988. The organisation has its headquarters in Madrid, and further branch offices in Barcelona, London and Tokyo. The company’s main shareholder is Bridgepoint Capital) and the Spaniards are running the show!

Have a look at how many Spanish riders are taking the field in all the classes, moto3 there is 8 out of 33, moto2 there is 8 out of 32 & motogp there is 7 out of 22. This is a total of 24 riders out of a total of 77 total riders that are contesting the 3 motorcycle championships. I think that there should be a limit of how many riders are allowed from one country to ride in any of the three top championships and it should be limited so that teams are not run sponsored and monopolised this way just like the Repsol team has done.

Why punish a rider because his country has a system in place that provides him/her with the opportunity, support and skill that allows him/her to present their skills on the world stage against the best?

IMO and speaking as an Aussie, if our system is not good enough to produce a rider that is capable or skill worthy to compete at the top level, than let us as a nation suffer whereas is Spain or any other country can produce this level of result, then they as a country and system should be congratulated.

With regards to the sponsors, again it comes down to who would be an alternative as not all businesses will spend the level of money Repsol (to use your example) have done and yet we need the investment in the sport.

No doubt.

I think he would be faster than Dovi, if he had stayed on the M1, so he is destined to be in the top 4. oops... top 3 - Stoner's going. (Who's going to be challenging for podiums now? Cal? If so, only because the competition has thinned...hope Marquez spanks his gobby arse!)

I am disappointed that the likes of RdP haven't been given a better ride - maybe when he starts to muscle the mid-pack of satellite bikes next year someone will take him seriously. Same for Espargaro. I can't see Bradley Smith being more competitive than Randy on an M1.

if spanish riders are better, then good for them, spain has high lever national championships, and in general they re good at all sports

i dont care if motogp has 20 spanish riders, nationality doesnt matter as long as they are the best in the world

i agree randy could be faster than bradley smith in general

but thats only if he can stay on the bike.. its normal for teams not to trust him so much now
