Yep, Rossi and Ianonne are the last two riders

3rd - Lorenzo - http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/225866/1/motogp-star-of-the-year-vote-3rd.html
4th - Pedrosa - http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/225849/1/motogp-star-of-the-year-vote-4th.html
5th - Marquez - http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/225829/1/motogp-star-of-the-year-vote-5th.html
6th - Vinales - http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/225808/1/motogp-star-of-the-year-vote-6th.html
7th - Smith - http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/225799/1/motogp-star-of-the-year-vote-7th.html
8th - Petrucci - http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/225787/1/motogp-star-of-the-year-vote-8th.html
9th - Aleix Espargaro - http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/225767/1/motogp-star-of-the-year-vote-9th.html
10th - Dovisioso - http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/225754/1/motogp-star-of-the-year-vote-10th.html

That is all that has been named for now but it leaves the top two positions to be filled by Rossi and Iannone (coincidence?)

It should also be remembered that this poll is a FAN voted poll although the comments are those of Crash 'Journalists'

Feel free to discuss :D

drum roll ...................... paparazzo & the yellow nation got this all wrapped up!
It would be interesting to hear on what merit gain farty 6 the #1 position.

The rider that had more wins, more poles, more points, more leading laps and is world champion......... is in 3rd !!! pfff

Ya, the yellow nation sure loaded the polls

I'm a little surprised that Smith is up there. He's a decent rider in terms of results, but watching him race is about as exciting as watching ice melt. I wouldn't consider him to have "star material."

I wouldn't disagree with Rossi being at the top. After all, it is "star of the year," not rider of the year.

My thoughts exactly.

Sure, it is not just abut results, but there was no doubt in my mind Rossi would be number 1 after what we saw on here alone after Sepang. I bet a lot of people even multiple voted to make sure their hero won at least something this year.

I used to prefer the polls of years back where they surveyed the top 10 finishers in a range of road race categories to get their thoughts of the top 3 riders across the year based on a 3-2-1 points system.

Still remember that Biaggi always gave himself 3 points in every category possible.

Its Crash.net, might as well be a certified Rossi fan club.

Yeah, defiantly a popularity contest rather than ranking of achievements or success for the year.

I think some, (not me), could make a reasonable agreement for JL to be 2nd, due to VR having such a great year, at his age, and was properly more unexpected. But JL 3rd.. BS.

Then MM like 5th.. Really???

Crash.net should have put up a disclaimer that this was a fan popularity contest and no way ranked yearly performance.

They kind of do in so many words

About the vote:
Rather than repeat the Riders' World Championship standings, the MotoGP Star of the Year poll expects viewers to take into account factors such as machinery, performance relative to a team-mate, riding style, experience, injuries, progress and personality just as much as race results.

Machinery : Rossi and Lorenzo the same
Performance relative to teammate : Advantage Lorenzo by large margin
Riding style: Matter of opinion
Injuries: None
Personality: Lorenzo boorish, Rossi fake

Smith done good this year. But how did cheating Petrucci get into the top 10? Surely the Guardians of Integrity fans would have vote Petrucci last for his admitted title finagling. Rossi fans hate riders who engage in title fixing.

May I paraphrase Rossi:

'This is the first time I see a rider from another manufacturer help a Yamaha rider try to win the title.'

Ah, the irony!

Well, just in. Iannone is voted 2nd. So I guess that leaves Nicky for the 1st spot! Hell yeah.

MotoGP Star of the Year vote - 2nd: Andrea Iannone | MotoGP 0

Imagine.

Twitter would have a melt down as the Twitter trolls went ballistic

We would see a CAS appeal over Crash.net's results

There would be an online petition to call on Crash to correct the result

The internet would be alive with 'Nail Nicky' (and not in a pleasant way) threats.

Some no hoper trash show will turn up at the Haystacks ranch and be beaten with a pitchfork whilst the family roosts them on the dirt trackers

This place would see a further innundation of 276 new members with names like Vale4Eva, NickyNobody, Honestlyunbiasedandfairminded, yellowisthecolourofchampions, and of course the Valesucks who registers to fight for Nick.

Oh wouldn't it be glorious
