Bring it on..............20 mins to go, wish I was there watching - looks a gorgeous day!

what a cracking race, not quite the result i was looking for but congrats to stoner.
elias upto his old tricks again then his bike goes pop, what a ride by rdp esp with his injurys.

Amazing race for Stoner and the Ducati. Hats off to them big time!

Rossi rode like a demon, but that thing is so fast! And Stoner can hang on to it!

This championship is a LONG way from over, Rossi has a serious rival for the first time in a long time. By that I mean someone he is going toe to toe with every race and Vale has no intention of letting him out of his sights. This is what brings out the best in these guys, some of the best races ever happen when you have 2 guys (Sheene and Roberts, Rainey and Schwantz, Doohan and Criville, I could go on) on top of their game and hungry as hell.

Bring it on!

Pete

absolutely awsome I am sweating, can someone post the post race comments I had to watch on ... ... internet cause tv today for some reason didnt show live its on at like 3 am and the net didnt show post race comments.

Best race for a couple of seasons. Randy DePuniet is a hero. Stoners bike fast no doubt but, Rossi has the better bike in the turns so makes Stoner's ride all the more impressive. He's super cool under pressure from Rossi and how many guys can say that? Pedrosa's ride was pretty amazing too seeing as that the Honda is still deep in development, they've moved the engine slightly further back to help the handling so considering they're experimenting so much with the chassis and the engine, hat's off to oompa. Hopper couldn't maintain the low/mid 43's for long enough, might have been a tyre thing. Poor Elias, engine crapped out at his home GP

i agree what a amazing race best ive seen for a long time i almost pid myself , stoner put up a good fight but.... ill say it again that ducati just isnt on, it has an advantage every race when the ducati sees a straight it goes into overdrive if rossi had that speed along with his legendary cornering he would be totally untouchable, they need to squeeze just a bit more out of the yamaha to put him on par with the ducati. if rossi had more speed it would have been goodnight for stoner its only the ducati grunt keeping him in the race, i still dont think stoner is as good as peoeple say he good but not that good, he has an amazing full pakage with the ducati so he always has that advantage.
i wish all the bikes were the same speed so then it would be just down to the rider, when rossi passes the ducati it just doesnt go away u just see it hunting rossi back down and glide past back into the lead, but all in all what a amazing race. i think if rossi and stoner swapped bikes no one or stoner would have a chance to catch him no chance.

one last thing i think its time for elias to leave motogp that guy is dangerous i wouldnt trust him in a milk-float.

MotoGP racing at its best today, frigging aweseome race

Casey was stunning again, never put a tyre wrong a went head to head with Valentino who also rode a stunning race. Stoner also proved he has the legs in the twisty's too, pulled a few classic moves on Rossi...........proper edge of seat racing.

Thought Dani might have had a bit more legs, tyres didnt look too great mid race but pulled it back towards the end.

RDP - top ride especially considering his injuries- man that knee looks sore!!

Stoner really did bring it to rossi today - championship winning ride.

The Ducati is fast as hell, but Stoner is the guy riding it. The other Dukes aint at the front every week. It's like Doohan going back onto the 500 screamer, it was fast as f##k, but nobody else could stay on it!

I can only give respect to Stoner for his performances, I'd rather Vale was leading the title race, but, hey even us mindless cheerleaders have to give props where they are due.

I think we are in an amazing time of GP racing, and I see Stoner as a guy who is going to be at the front for a long time.

so your telling me if that ducati didnt have that extra bit of grunt he would kept up with rossi after that pass??? bulsht no way ,rossi pushed that yam to the beyond and still wasnt enough, stoner doesnt have to work as hard as everyone else,
the ducati accelerates quicker has a better top speed and better in the corners id call that an advantage.
if it was those 3 again but stoner wasnt riding a ducati he would have been 3rd and rossi or pedrosa 1st or 2nd.
i know there are other ducati's there but stoner has a setup that every rider wishes for.

Jazkat - did you see the parts of the race where Stoner was up rossi's ... through the twisties, and the parts where he overtook him not on the straight?

....... hell, what a race, Stoner is proving me wrong every damn race so far this year.. he really is on it 110%.. hats off to the guy! Rossi rode a great race too (bar the start!) but not even The Doctor could match Boner! excellent stuff, and RDP.. hes french, we hate the french.. but excellent stuff from him! Nicky and Colin, really not looking food for them for next year!

what a dumb thing to say, its not just the bike, even if its a sweet big red machine.. Stoner is bang on form this year.. and i hate the little ....... lol

Great ride from Stoner, he handled the pressure from Rossi like no one i've seen. If that was Biaggi or Gibernau, Rossi would have won comfortably on the last lap. It great to see someone taking the pressure and upping their game.

Rossi rode great as always and applied pressure under brakes that Pedrosa isnt able to. I dont think Rossi or Stoner is worried about Pedrosa passing under brakes, this seems to be his weakness, nonetheless a great ride once again proving the Honda isn't absolute ....., the riders are.

Hopper, good race, hot girlfriend. DePuniet rode really well and showed how good the Kawasaki can be, hopefully he'll have a better team mate backing him up from Donington onward.

As far as the rest go, they finished where they've been finishing all year. Barros back to his normal self, Edwards and Capirossi as disappointing as ever.

Not sure why anyone is on the 'if' wagon. Whats the point in saying 'if' Rossi had more straight line speed no one could touch him. So, what 'if' Pedrosa had more straight line speed he could comfortably pass and wouldn't be under pressure on the brakes. What 'if' Edwards was given a double race winning 800cc, he'd be doing way better. If is ........, Stoner stayed in front of Rossi the entire last lap, was that solely because of the front straight?

yes im fully aware of that but stoners ducati is setup is perfect for him,
rossi is still trying to get his bike where he wants it to be i dont see the perfect harmony yet with rossi and his bike as i do for stoner and his bike, i just wish he could have his yam as suited to him as his honda was.
hopefully he will get his ideal setup soon cos he needs it

and dont start having a go at me cos ill poke u in the eye with a plastic fork lol.

yes i know stoner is good rider and i know he deserved his win today.

vale 4607:

i get what ur sayin i know rossi didnt pass on the last lap , anyway awesome race

Look at this:

Race Top Speeds:

1.Loris Capirrosi: 314.0
2.Dani Pedrosa: 312.9
3.Randy de Puniet: 312.13
4.Casey Stoner: 311.9
.
.
.
9.Valentino Rossi: 307..3

Clearly, Ducati's pushed back the engine to give Stoner a better riding in high speed turns, so, there is no such difference to Rossi's bike.

What makes difference today in that straight is Ducati's aerodynamics.

Clearly, when Pedrosa got near Stoner in the Straight thanks to vacuum, when he put aside to do the surpassing move, the air flow launched Pedrosa back. Same for Rossi.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was the best race this year i've watched, the top 3 was impressive.

Congrat to Stoner, Rossi and Pedrosa.

Hey, Capirossi made a great race! Nice points to Ducati Marlboro Team when Edwards and Hayden took 10th and 11th.

<

Just 11 more races to Ducati's and Stoner's first title!

Go desmo!!!

Great race, even if the result was sad for me. The last few laps were pure adrenalin injections!

About the Hondas:
I completely disagree with Vale4607, IMO today proved the RCV212 is a pice of ..... Despite having improved the top speed (only of the HRC and Melandri's bike) it's still embarrasingly slow and now furthermore it's got reliability issues.

Checa finished 17th out of the points, Nakano 15th, World Champion Nicky 11th, Melandri 9th .... Only Pedrosa managed a good result and IMO that's just because he's a ....... genious and at home he rode the wheels off that junk.

About Rossi vs Stoner, Yamaha vs Ducati:
IMO The Yamaha is as good as the Ducati, it doesn't have the top speed of the Ducati but it's much more stable under braking and much more nimble. Overall pretty even.

It's quite obvious the Ducati ain't winning the races for Casey, because just look were the rest of Dukes are, NOWHERE. How many other riders have won races with this bike? NONE.

So full praise to Stoner who so far has been a better rider than Rossi.

And I'm not a fan of either of them so my view is unbiased.

About Kawasaki:
HALELUYA!!! I think this is the best bike Kawasaki has built during the MotoGP era, I know Nakano managed a couple of podiums but it was either under wet condition or Bridgestone sanctuaries.
IMO they just need a top rider to be a regular podium finisher.
GO KAWA!!!!!!!!
