Would you be so kind as to point out where CS fits into this thread? Thanks in advance...

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Arrabbiata1 @ Dec 6 2009, 09:18 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>You've produced plenty of expansive essays in your time on here. My first two posts weren't angry in the slightest, I apologise if they seemed that way - I have no anger over the matter, despite being branded a 'Rossi hater' - whatever that might be.

I'd hardly call the 'innocent cartoon' hilarious though, and as I just said, I really didn't go ballistic as you seem to think I did. You yourself very rarely let things pass so don't babble 'fish. Reacquaint yourself with some of your more vociferous posts - I remember them - they're there for everyone else to read as well before you try to come over all righteous behind the anonymity of your keyboard. Serious problems? read my posts on this thread again. In fact read Michael's - the voice of equanimity as ever. His defense of '46 being the most important thing here, because I certainly never meant for my response to sound like a unprovoked attack on the guy.

I've been re-reading some of your reactionary replies over the last two years when someone disagrees with you actually, and they can be really quite spiteful. Why not 'quality check' mine while you're at it for supposed 'incitement to Rossi hatred - after all I am now it would seem amongst the ranks of the infidels.

So far from me being astride my 'white horse' perhaps it's time you dismounted your own high horse and for once stop chiming in like the sanctimonious and supercilious hypocrite that you so frequently betray yourself to be.

I hereby remove the name Michaelm from the register, to be replaced by The Diplomat,
a new force for world peace in the same vein as other superheroes. Perhaps in the mould of the recently departed Edward Woodward as THe Equaliser (but preferred him in Callan)

Why do people always have to "fight" over irrelevant things over internet forums anyway?

Because they can and have nothing better to do I guess...

As in... uh, argue

I would be glad to. Casey is like a tree falling in the woods with no one around to hear. Sure he may have pissed and moaned when it happened. But it did not matter, because nobody cares. Cs fans where to buisy bitching about .... that has nothing to do with him.....again.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Andy Roo @ Dec 6 2009, 01:07 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>That was excellent!

Indeed!

I clicked on this thread wondering a bit about the topic, the first post was, I admit, mildly funny. I was about to click out (as the off-season as been particularly dull) oh Lord, but thank God I read a little further. Really, I don't have words to respond except to say; sometimes I am reminded why I love this forum so much. Its a real treat to come on here expecting nothing and walk away feeling like I'm not alone in this world; that there are others who actually get it and have the ability to eloquently express it.

As far as the cartoon and reactions, look at it this way, for every 100 parodies, 99 are about how everything on the planet is summarily owned and the domain of Rossi. Yeah, its funny the first few times somebody makes a semi-witty cartoon, but once you see the same message hundreds of times, then it becomes like that 8 year old kid who repeats a joke, over and over and over again: you genuinely laughed the first few times, then courtesy laughed a few more, then after 50, 60 times you are like, 'shut up already'. Its no longer funny. Its amusing how those of us who are no longer laughing must be equated with "hating", when actually, its just the message in the joke has simply run its course. We understand that, yes, the reason there are so many parodies is because Rossi has actually beat everybody and every thing (geez the son of ah bitch has even crushed professional rally racers at their own game); so yes the man is amazing & deserves the admiration! Its the repeated ramming down the throat that gets tiresome.

Anyway, I'm obviously a polarizing bias opinion here (I'm aware that some will discount my take as soon as you see my name attached), so I won't rant anymore except to say, there was a thread here some time ago that started with a picture of Hayden on his Honda poking a bit of fun. I'm as diehard a Hayden fan as they come, yet at the time it was refreshing to see something like this pulled off (wit is witty no matter when). And this was done during a time of actual hating on the guy for subpar performance and add to that, on the heels of what had been termed a "fluke" title: Here is the LINK With this bakdrop, its hard to pull off a joke that looks to be piling on, yet it was pulled off hilariously. Some of the pics have been since deleted (and there were some good ones by others, Burky and a few were partiularly sick hilarious) perhaps if they still have them on their computers they could post back up?? Anyways, this is WIT my friends! There was another thread called 'Photo fun with Vale', that was pretty funny too. I can't find the link because the search feature is down, but this was witty because it made fun of riders at the expense of themselves. Where as this is the tired old 'Rossi owns X' etc.

Oh, Babel, Talpa & Co. I really do wish I had the patience and articulation of Arrabi & Austi….but I don’t. So I’ll be brief: ‘F U’ (simple and quite decidedly to the point, eh).

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Arrabbiata1 @ Dec 6 2009, 02:10 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>This is possibly the most witless, asinine, banal post I've ever had the misfortune to click on. Good intent, sure, harmless banter of course, but this is the kind of mindless hero worship and glory hunter garbage that perpetrates the provocation on here against the stereotypical Rossi disciple. And meanwhile the likes of Talpa continue their inquisition against supposed Rossi heathens and blasphemers. I admire Rossi, because it is impossible not to as a lifelong devotee of this sport, but I find this sot of puerile adoration so, so, so tiresome. In actual fact, in answer to he chicken and egg conundrum, and as to which came first, I've always instinctively favoured the free range likes of Lorenzo, who now has a suitably hard boiled shell not to crack. In fact Valentino's foul clucking is becoming tiresome. Far from mental weakness, after what happened this season. forget any suggestion of psychological weakness, I am in utter admiration of Casey's mental fortitude. Dani will embark on a season for the first time in an aeon sans injury, and Jorge is ready to pluck Osvaldo's feathers and give him the roasting he deserves.

It's up to Valentino to shut the .... up with the threats of quitting Yam because his teammate's on equal machinery and get on with what the Rossi adoring throngs remind us he's unparalleled at - which is the art of riding a motorcycle. It's down to The Doctor to raise the game again - which he inevitably will, and as usual when he feels under threat the off track mind games begin. Just as the sun and the moon are polarised, the nice guy veneer is peeled away and the ugly face emerges...after all, as the popular idiom goes, you can't make an omelette without breakjng eggs. But then, regarding the proverbial egg on the face -I've a feeling come this time next year, Curves 09 avatar may need reversal.

It is my perhaps wholly unrealistic dream, a vision, that one glorious day, three out of every five members on this forum will not feel the need to christen their Membership with references to the number 46, 'Valentino', 'Rossi' and inculcate us with images of suns and moons, bulldogs, and infantile Aldo Drudi helmet designs as avatars.
Chill out fella, guy is just having some fun. Arrab i like your posts mostly but definatley you overreacted with your above reply.

We all pick our own fights. You choose to take your over a cartoon, and you are absolutely right, the cartoon were not hilariously funny, you however, are. You are funny by making this your fight.
I sure have had my essays a few probably started off in bad mood and never should have been there but for the most part I pick my fights over issues I find worth debating. Hint: Cartoons aren't worth a fight arrabb.

Who care what kind of mood you were in. As so many has pointed out already, you certainly gave the impression of blowing a virtual gasket. Your real emotion are irrelevant just as you real intentions are. Only the perception matter, especially as it is so unison. But sure, go on saying you were not angry, no one are going to buy that anyway. Not with this start:
"This is possibly the most witless, asinine, banal post I've ever had the misfortune to click on. "
That's not a small pedestal, it monumental .... and it's over an inocent cartoon

I liked edward woodward greatly in both roles and take it as quite a compliment to be likened to his equaliser character

Perhaps obviously I do endeavour to be logically consistent, a practice which has not always benefited me in life. At present I find it difficult to argue about lack of recognition of stoner or excessive praise of rossi given that valentino has actually won the last 2 championships, fairly handily, and casey has not.

WSBK testing at Valencia on Wednesday and Thursday.
Wednesday and Thursday will see World Superbike, World Supersport and Moto2 teams testing at the Spanish circuit of Valencia.

In WSBK, the 'nominated' teams for Aprilia (Max Biaggi and Leon Camier), Honda (Jonathan Rea and Max Neukirchner), Suzuki (Leon Haslam and Sylvain Guintoli) and Yamaha (James Toseland and Cal Crutchlow) will all be present.

However, it looks like Ducati Xerox will not be present, while Althea Ducati riders Carlos Checa and Shane Byrne are confirmed as missing the test.

All I'm saying is you're having a go at Arrab for explaining himself and in the same post you explain your hot-headed posts. We all have them. Just don't flame someone for it and come off as if you've never been there. And I'll be clumped into a camp with Arrab any day of the week, one of the top posters in here, IMO.

All in good fun though, Babel.

You originally said that the cartoon was, 'nothing less than hilarious' and in a subsequent post you said you agreed with me saying that you'd 'hardly call the innocent cartoon hilarious though'. Where's the logic there 'babble-phish'? - just more self contradictory bull. In fact you are so contrary you can't even agree with yourself.

You are very arrogant when you disagree - almost on a par with me.

I once posted on here that had they not extended the asphalt in certain sections at Sachsenring, then an accident that had befallen Casey in '08 qualifying would have been far more serious a la Toni Elias at Assen, who immediately tumbled in the gravel and broke his tibia. You then tore my head off by saying I don't know a thing about racing and proceeded to educate me as to the purpose of gravel traps. It was then subsequently revealed by a spokesperson at the track that this was precisely the reason that they extended the tarmac run off to allow friction to decelerate the rider prior to the gravel to eliminate the risk of injury due to the risk of high speed tumbling - and he finished by citing that precise incident. I let that one go at the time. Shortly after this Tom started a very interesting thread about rider natural talent - and I fully admit because the subject grabbed me, I went to town on my post, which you sardonically dismissed as a novel. Only three day's later you produced one THREE TIMES THE LENGTH and if I may say, three time the ........ factor. But all this pales into insignificance alongside your ludicrous observations from the stands at Assen this year concerning Casey Stoner's throttle action, which I invite you all to revisit for its uniquely high comedic value alone, and Jumkie's brilliant responses.

Go away fish....you're sounding like a bottom feeder now. Isn't there something else to entertain you during those long winter nights up there? Where's Talpa gone? Behind the yellow tinted spectacles there is at least lurks a brain.
