This is possibly the most witless, asinine, banal post I've ever had the misfortune to click on. Good intent, sure, harmless banter of course, but this is the kind of mindless hero worship and glory hunter garbage that perpetrates the provocation on here against the stereotypical Rossi disciple. And meanwhile the likes of Talpa continue their inquisition against supposed Rossi heathens and blasphemers. I admire Rossi, because it is impossible not to as a lifelong devotee of this sport, but I find this sot of puerile adoration so, so, so tiresome. In actual fact, in answer to he chicken and egg conundrum, and as to which came first, I've always instinctively favoured the free range likes of Lorenzo, who now has a suitably hard boiled shell not to crack. In fact Valentino's foul clucking is becoming tiresome. Far from mental weakness, after what happened this season. forget any suggestion of psychological weakness, I am in utter admiration of Casey's mental fortitude. Dani will embark on a season for the first time in an aeon sans injury, and Jorge is ready to pluck Osvaldo's feathers and give him the roasting he deserves.

It's up to Valentino to shut the .... up with the threats of quitting Yam because his teammate's on equal machinery and get on with what the Rossi adoring throngs remind us he's unparalleled at - which is the art of riding a motorcycle. It's down to The Doctor to raise the game again - which he inevitably will, and as usual when he feels under threat the off track mind games begin. Just as the sun and the moon are polarised, the nice guy veneer is peeled away and the ugly face emerges...after all, as the popular idiom goes, you can't make an omelette without breakjng eggs. But then, regarding the proverbial egg on the face -I've a feeling come this time next year, Curves 09 avatar may need reversal.

It is my perhaps wholly unrealistic dream, a vision, that one glorious day, three out of every five members on this forum will not feel the need to christen their Membership with references to the number 46, 'Valentino', 'Rossi' and inculcate us with images of suns and moons, bulldogs, and infantile Aldo Drudi helmet designs as avatars.

You need to smoke a joint or four and chill the .... out dude......removing that enormous chip from your shoulder will help with a more pleasant existence.

As for the inquisition, well there's nothing wrong with getting others to explain themselves, also, there is equally nothing wrong with having a point of view-as you certainly do!!

Would you be happier if we just agreed with you?

But then you wouldn't be able to enlighten us with posts like above, filled with Disturbing levels of intellectual hatred, sardonic journalistic rhetoric all mixed in with imaginary detractory annotations of the lives of predominately nameless, faceless internet forum members...........we get it already! You don't like Rossi Boppers!!

VR certainly has been vocal about Yam most of which isn't positive for him, the team or the triple tuning fork, but I believe without missing a round in the past 5 years or so and consistently finishing on or near the podium, he has certainly been getting on with the job of riding the bike.

As for your sun and moon paradigm, well hey, as with all in life its in the eye of the beholder really.

I have no chip whatsoever on my shoulder. I know who the genuine Rossi fans are on this forum, and I know who the genuine fans of this sport are. As for hating 'Rossi Boppers', I was accused of being one a fortnight ago on this forum; two days later, I was reviled by you for 'Rossi hatred' for daring to suggest that the special dispensation and resources given to him by Yamaha upon his arrival in '04 were perhaps not afforded to the previous incumbents. So actually, to be 'blunt', if anyone is in need of a swift toke it's very likely to be yourself.

Check my posts Talpa, I have no history of prejudice against Valentino whatsoever. I'm loath to say however, I am forced to agree with SS56 in the view that behind the antics, and the clever PR, Mr.Rossi isn't quite the clown prince that he would purport to be - In fact any attempt to topple his crown, such as the young pretender to the throne Mr.Lorenzo, and the facade soon cracks. Like any World Champion, Vale likes to win and hates losing, but I concede he can still remain gracious in defeat...on occasions. That said, I'll never forget when Sete took that race at Sachsenring through a very clever last corner move, (substantially better in execution than Rossi's last corner farrago at Jerez which lets face it, had it been the other way around would even now still be generating at least one outraged thread a week), and Rossi's post race sour face in Parc Ferme. The subsequent vitriol in the Italian press that Rossi was losing it was of course absurd and uncalled for, but it wasn't long until the sweeping incident at Losail after which Valentino announced that he'd been looking for an excuse not to talk to Sete for some time - and that to me said it all. It was easy to scramble Sete's mind, but as I've already said, Lorenzo is hard boiled and tougher to crack. The recent ultimatum to Yamaha illustrates that Rossi is suitably threatened by his teammate. The buddying up with Edwards, which goes back to being HRC teammates in the eight hour perhaps wouldn't have been quite so amicable had Colin challenged him for the title on the factory M1. As I pointed out in a previous posts, bring it to him and he's like a petulant child off track, flinging all manner of toys out of the pram. On track it's a different matter, and quite often the results are sublime - witness Catalunya this year - and that's why, contrary to your irrational allegations of Rossi hatred Talpa, from my point of view, you've just got to love the guy, how couldn't you? But like I say...that's on-track. Off track I see an entirely different picture, and I've seen it with previous luminaries in this sport.

Valentino will be harder than ever to beat next year, but then so will Casey, but I believe he regards Lorenzo as the greatest threat. Regarding the 'aliens' -the elite four who arrived from another planet, I'm relishing the prospect of 'The War of The Worlds' next season, (but hoping that Jorge won't be tempted to revive that ridiculous spacesuit theme again). So many times the 'Rossi Boppers' gloat at the misfortune of his rivals. What happened to Casey at Valencia as absurd as it was, drummed up a thread in its own right solely to lampoon him. Personally, I would have preferred to see the guy race as opposed to landing on his head in the warm up lap. Similarly, it appears that the 'yellow fold' breathed a collective sigh of relief this year, as one by one Rossi's rivals were mathematically eliminated from the Championship. Lorenzo was the last one standing, and his cause was all but lost at Phillip Island. Earlier in the championship we had a three-way tie between Valentino, Jorge and Casey, with Dani, encumbered by his pre season injuries hard on their heels. It honestly seems to be the case, that most 'boppers would have rather see their hero unassailed in his bid for a ninth title, as opposed to a fourway battle all the way to final race of the year.

Perhaps I should as you say, lighten up Talpa - which is a bit rich however coming from you. As I said, it's all meant in good humour and there are greater things to worry about in life, may I suggest for example, understanding the meaning of the word paradigm. I just find the continual jibing so tiresome and not conducive to productive discourse. I am quite aware that certain elements in the 'red corner' are far from being whiter than white, but to those neutral members without the tinted spectacles, the whole Rossi v's Stoner diatribe becomes very tedious....and now Lorenzo. I suppose, the point is that casey asks for a lot of what he gets - he certainly doesn't do himself any favours, but it seems to me that Lorenzo's only crime is to presume to beat Rossi in the championship. Would you be happy Talpa if Rossi just won every race by a country mile? - actually, based upon my observations, a great many supposed Rossi fans probably would if you cast your minds back to the early years of the 990's.

Meantime, would I be happy if you just agreed with me? of course not, this is a forum for debate, but that's just the point I'm making, powerslide has an indelible yellow stain. If anyone has the audacity to broaden the spectrum, in common with your hero, the true colours soon come out in the wash.

My work here would seem to be done, with several more eloquent, more knowledgeable and possessed of greater wit than I having entered the fray.

I would cut #46 some slack though; he strkes me as a pure-hearted rossi fan rather than a bopper;he is seldom gratuitously critical of other riders which is what gets my personal goat.

Whilst I generally find it difficult to disagree with you I personally cannot envisage jorge beating valentino for a championship whilst both are on factory yamahas though.

Hey dude, let's face it. That pass, had it been the way it was it would even now still be generating at least one outraged thread a week.
... As you prove so very well to day.

The "don't call me Rossi basher/hater bacuase I'm not" it getting old and very tiresome and frankly nobody buy it any more if anyone ever did. I don't care what your (or J or TP or.....) issue are but you all jump on you white horse and shiny armor and think you are doing someone a favor by telling the "real truth" about what ever twisted view of the world you might have. A knight standing up against the evil rossi/rossi boopers trying to destroy you world.

And nobody can doubt you have some serious issues as you jump on that innocent cartoon. To get into a rage like the one you show is kind of self documenting. If you don't have an issue, you let it pass and you truly failed that test

Why would I hate Rossi you strange man?

Issue, test? rage? Twisted view of the world? Serious issues? Failed the test? - This is exactly the deranged sort of response that I'm referring to.

Quite bizarre.

Precisely when exactly have you ever let anything pass yourself?

You're Nordic remember...the SoCal vernacular really doesn't become you.

Oh Babel, why even jump in? You claim to be above the Bopper bit and a true fan of the sport. If so, why get involved in this? No one called you out. Arrab made a couple great points, mostly about the Boppers and about the ever-clearer personality of off-track Valentino.

I thought it was all about the riding for you, you enjoyed a real rider's rider. Arrab was nothing but complimentary about Valentino in that regard. Which anyone who is a fan of the sport is obliged to agree with. However the detractions of Rossi in this thread are that he is not the "Clown Prince" as Arrab put it so well. Does that accusation tarnish Valentino's reputation as a rider's rider? And Arrab is hardly the first to suggest this, Julian Ryder and many other journos posed this question back in 2001 after the Suzuka incident.

It's becoming very, very evident that this face of Rossi is nothing new, nor is it a coincidence. Piece together his responses in the past to Gibernau, Elias, the Michelin debacle and now with Lorenzo/Yamaha. He villanized Gibernau for a clean pass, berated Elias for a similar move that Rossi made on Gibernau, threatened to quit grand prix if he didn't get Bridgestones and threatens to quit Yamaha if they don't get rid of Lorenzo.

Fair play to him, every rider should be doing all they can to give them the best chance of winning. But I also think that every rider should be held to the same set of standards. Pedro was lambasted for his Bridgestone switch and attitude towards teammates. Honestly tell me, how have Rossi's actions differed from Pedrosa's? You want to know why there is a crusade against bopperism, there's your answer.

You might not have noticed I put in the slash between Rossi and Rossi fans. The meaning is either or. That said you're credibility on the issue is getting thin as you keep coming back on all things you don't like about Rossi time after time after time. Even in this tread there is plenty but as I said, the whole thing is so far off and those single issues you have against Rossi is not worth commenting. It's the size and anger in your two first posts that are interesting and as I said self documenting.
Who cares what kind of responses you get a hard on from, you went ballistic over an innocent cartoon and that is nothing less than hilarious. Hence the "twisted" "serious issues".... You are so upset that you don't even notice I don't "defend" or glorify or hardly mention Rossi at all. This is not about Rossi for once, it's about you (and your companions).

When do I let things pass? Often enough. But much more important, cartoons like that or more relevant in Rossi's case, photo comments and photo shop jobs are simply nothing that I let pass or not. I would consider my self having a serious problem if I even considered firing off anything like your manifest near the top of this tread over something like that.

You've produced plenty of expansive essays in your time on here. My first two posts weren't angry in the slightest, I apologise if they seemed that way - I have no anger over the matter, despite being branded a 'Rossi hater' - whatever that might be.

I'd hardly call the 'innocent cartoon' hilarious though, and as I just said, I really didn't go ballistic as you seem to think I did. You yourself very rarely let things pass so don't babble 'fish. Reacquaint yourself with some of your more vociferous posts - I remember them - they're there for everyone else to read as well before you try to come over all righteous behind the anonymity of your keyboard. Serious problems? read my posts on this thread again. In fact read Michael's - the voice of equanimity as ever. His defense of '46 being the most important thing here, because I certainly never meant for my response to sound like a unprovoked attack on the guy.

I've been re-reading some of your reactionary replies over the last two years when someone disagrees with you actually, and they can be really quite spiteful. Why not 'quality check' mine while you're at it for supposed 'incitement to Rossi hatred - after all I am now it would seem amongst the ranks of the infidels.

So far from me being astride my 'white horse' perhaps it's time you dismounted your own high horse and for once stop chiming in like the sanctimonious and supercilious hypocrite that you so frequently betray yourself to be.

and for once stop chiming in like

firstly you have way too much time on your hands! And despite your protests you continue to display the traits I highlighted above, this was a harmless little thread which didn't really deserve the attention it now has, but thanks to you with that ever pretrouding chip it's turned into yet another rossi fan/bopper/cs fan/ ....... whatever bash fest.

Might be time to check out till april when we may have something new to discuss

Is this whole off-season gonna be like this? Boring, childish, and REPETITIVE AD INFINITUM... Its ......' Groundhog Day the sequel!!!

Why is it fiction? - it's simply based on empirical evidence.

You used the word in the wrong context btw.

You also said, might be time to check out until April until we have something new to discuss - in so doing you said something sensible at last - but Talpa, as the self appointed Matthew Hopkins of this forum has demonised me and branded me a heretic, and as defender of the faith is incapable of letting it lie.

For the record:

1/ I have no chip on my shoulder, and really do not hate VR...in point of fact I believe he has single handedly done more for the profile of this championship than anyone in its 50 year history.
2 I was wrong to react to '46's photoshop chicken and egg - although I am really quite amused to think of the outrage had a similar post been directed at the church of Rossi.
3/ I will immediately don a yellow number 46 hair shirt, and publicly recant my heretical beliefs before I am burnt to the stake - or next 'post' by Torquemada Talpa of Tavullia and his rabid inquisition.

Wow..I'm a quite bit surprised...

Actually those two posts above is the reply that I was expecting to...

Maybe I should have added "Caption Contest Please" on my first post.

And a fryer as well.
