Catalunya Rd6 pracs and quali

Lorenzo seems to have a bit of speed in hand over everyone. He's got multiple laps inside Dovi's quickest time. Let's hope someone can match his race pace come Sunday.

As far as Hayden goes, I'm baffled. He was consistently slower than his time from yesterday with the exception of one lap at 1.43.658, approximately a half second quicker than yesterday. Take away that time and his next quickest lap was 1.44.4xx, .3 slower than what he did yesterday. I don't know if the track conditions are changing or what is happening but I can't find any reason for him to not be able to run yesterday's pace, then go a half second quicker for one lap, and resume slow pace. Super soft tire? Anyone?

His only 43 lap was at the end of the session and he was on a new best lap (blue helmets) on his last lap when something happened at the end of the lap. To me it looks like they did something right and got back the setup of yesterday. The conditions are the usual slight improvement from yesterday, the best started at yeastyerdays best time at the start of FP2.

Lorenzo and Dovi most probably used soft tyres in the last few laps... This will be easy to check in the afternoon
<

No doubt however that Lorenzo is trying to get on Rossi's nerves
<

I am not really sure if it is Ducati other riders who were faster, or Stoner slower, or both, but in the end Stoner, Canepa and Hayden were pretty close. It's the first time I think.
<

Give Talmacsi a 250, he'll lap faster
<

rossi on pole with a 1´42"327 on the harder tire
lorenzo second 1´42"732 on the soft rear
INTERENSTING
<

So that was the case in the morning--Lorenzo had used a soft tyre and quali mapping. He couldn't improve on his morning time in the hotter afternoon conditions.
Jorge and Vale practically clocked the same times. Stoner very close. A great race tomorrow!
<

Nicky...what happened buddy? 6...10...13...

<

Also, VERY disappointed with m0t0gp.c0m...I had to keep refreshing the stream just to get it to work. It had better be a hell of a lot better tomorrow or I'm getting my money back.

In the parc ferme he shook Lorenzo's hand and told him in Italian, "see you tomorrow".

It could be a great race.
More so because somehow I have a feeling that Stoner and Ducati have been sandbagging a little... we'll see.

I gotta say - Pedrosa's personality aside, I have some respect for the little prick. He's a hard case. Who amongst us would take such a beating and endure that much pain and keep riding when there's no likelihood of even coming in 3rd this year? He's got a lot of balls for such a little guy.

I was thinking it - but didn't want to say it. And when everyone is on the hard tires
it'll definitely be a different situation. Curious to see if Burgess pulls another rabbit
out of his hat. Gotta say, Rossi didn't look at all worried when he was in Parc Ferme.

Even too much, almost bordering on masochism...

You are right, anyway.
I 'prophesied' last year that Pedrosa could fade away and never win a title in MotoGP, but this is too hard a way to do it.
Honda could be on the market for a top rider for next year... and Stoner has not renewed yet with Ducati, has he.

Factoids:

Over the last seven years, the only MotoGP rider to win this event from pole was Valentino Rossi in 2006 … Last year, Dani Pedrosa became the first Spanish rider to win this event since Alex Criville in 1999

Yeah that was what I recall. My only thought was perhaps they were trying a few more set-up changes to see if they could further improve what Vitto had found with some more Vitto-inspired changes.

I have a slight hope that tomorrows race could become something special.
Rossi, Lorenzo and maybe Dovi could make this a true battle for the win

I strongly doubt that, and suspect he will end way down the list. He could still surprice me tomorrow but he never had one good stint, only single laps that put him on the list. I would not be surpriced if the result would look more like FP2 when it comes to the Ducaties.

its a dry and bright'ish morning just hope those big dark clouds go away. from the track ffs
