I think all eyes will be on Lorenzo with good reason of course. I don't know if he can repeat Mugello or not, but we'll find out if the tank extension really made that much of a difference to how he can handle the bike.

MM will be somewhere riding for points now after the Mugello crash as he is going to be keen to build up that points lead.

Don't know what to think of the Yamaha's and whether or not they will turn a big corner here with their upgrade package.

Dovi will probably be in the mix as well.

I think we can expect crashes due to the ...... tires. Just a matter of who crashes.

To be candid, I always like to take a punt at trying to predict the outcome, but recently the tires are all over the shop and make it even harder. Having said that, JPS did a good summary so I will go for-
Dovi
Marc
vale
horhay
ianonne

Top 6 for Rossi and J Lo.
Marquez probably winning.
Zarco qualifies on the front row again.

Vinales skips the race and goes fishing because he can’t figure out fuckall about the bike.

Maybe he can start punching the tank again.

So it'll be a lottery.

High grip tracks seem to favour the Yamaha, but then Yamaha finished behind Ducati and Honda at Le Mans, which was recently resurfaced and is one of Yamaha's strongest tracks. It's so hard to predict races this season.

Quick google search says January, finished in February.

Unsurprisingly, F1 not happy and see it as a waste of money but .... 'em.

The only thing F1 is good for us introducing ripples and bumps on decent tracks with their ........ downforce.

.... em indeed.

Indeed, Jorge likes this track and I’m very curious to see how he does on the Duc this year with the modifications. Marquez’ last win there was ‘14 and Jorge and Valentino have like 11 wins between themselves in the Premier class alone, but looking at his form this year Marc will be tough to beat. New asphalt they did in January makes it very tricky though and it will be somewhat difficult to rate the Michelin’s performance. I am not ready yet to jump on the Michelin bashing bandwagon but they sure make a strong case for it so far. Nevertheless very excited about the race and according to forecast weather will be nice too.

Turn 3 is going to be a make or break corner for Lorenzo. High speed, time of lateral force on the tire edge. Going to make for tire conservation a bit difficult. Same with the final corner. He may manage it but I almost want to say based on the edge grip needed, he's going to falter.

Just had a funny thought. What if.... the tank fix really makes the difference and Lorenzo kicks ... at every race for the remainder of the season? And then falters at Honda?

well then I guess honda will have to get in their best tank fabricators. Maybe have an OCC honda with Paul senior as the chief mechanic?

Ha ha! And this will bring to bear, The Tank Wars! I can hear Crutchlow now bitching that he crashed again because he was forced to ride around on the ...... 2018 tank.

"DP26" debrief, before press conference: Pedro's retirement eminent.

Marquez "Lorenzo will adapt to Honda."

Screenshot from last year's race. Note championship points, what a difference a year makes (and tire democracy). Note Folger, lead group, sigh.

Also, Lorenzo finished 4th, with a late race charge, we may see him on podium this year if not challenge for win. Yamaha were lackluster, struggling for top ten.

Still think it's going to come down to how Lorenzo manages the tires on the long sweeping rights.

The modifications to T13,14,15 may mitigate edge grip in his favor.

I’d really like Dani to retire on his own terms not because he lost his ride. It kinda sucks Honda never worked out for him. But he’s 32, still reasonably fit and I’d like to see him on another competitive bike that could fit his size and style more than Honda before he “hangs up his helmet”.
