yea i agree, england as everyone know is vales home away from home and they love him, but thats no excuse for their ignorance

all they will do is fire up casey to want the win even more so let the stupid ..... boo him away (even though im rootin for vale
<
)

anyway casey is too cool and mature in spite of his young age to let .... like that get to him in a negative way

.... it and .... them, bring on the race, let the battle commence
<

i cant wait

I agree it is ignorance, I remember the race back in 2004 where Max Biaggi was getting pretty much the same treatment, sad really.

He was booed at Day Of Champions, but Julian Ryder and Toby Moody went mad, calling them loosers as such. Still, most of Caseys stuff went for fcking loads.

I'm english. Have no understanding as to why on earth anyone would boo crashy? Can somebody that's been booing please explain?!

No wonder casey has been slagging off the track as the worst he's ridden...

what does booing somebody have to do with ignorance? that word gets thrown around way too much without people giving thought to what it means (same with the word "hater").

if people are booing casey because they would prefer vale (or someone else) to be on top, then so be it. if they are booing casey because hypothetically, they don't like his attitude or the color of his socks or whatever else, then so be it. but none of that has to do with ignorance. in fact, the exact opposite is true; rather than being ignorant of the facts regarding the season, the fans are well aware of them and are choosing to show their disappointment by booing stoner.

i'm not defending such actions, but it's not ignorance. you can call it poor form, rude, crass, immature, childish, etc. etc., but don't call it ignorance.

It is ignorant.
It is unsophisticated, and is basically the same as heckling. While making Stoner feel bad (they did it right in front of him) it shows they have so much lack of sportsmanship. It is ignorant. Noone cares about the colour of his socks. They boo him because they are scared that someone might, and is, beating a person who they feel secure with when he wins.

So, they're allowed to voice their stupid opinions, it's exactly the same as this forum.

It's not the first time either...

Kiyo got booed at Brands for winning the BSB title from Haslam, but that's understandable given the situation then and there.

I would have LOVED to see what Moody and Ryder said to the crowd.

"SHUT UP!!! THIS IS THE CHAMPIONSHIP WINNING SMILE MAN WE HAVE HERE!"

While Mamola is heard suckling a Repsol Honda rider in the corner

drumfu i like your take here. i remember going to ball (base) games & boing some player i did'nt like or the opposing team & enjoying every minuet of it. gettin laughs & jeers from fans who supported the booed. it's all part of it, part of the show if u ask me & i expect to here jeers & booing. if i were at donny i'd be booing rossi!!
<

There are stupid fans anywhere in any sport......, look at soccer where they kick the .... out of everything and everybody, even when their team wins! LOL!
I feel bad for Casey though, nobody deserves that kind of treatment.
And I hate it when these kind of idiots make a bad name for all the other 'normal' Rossi fans out there..
But I guess with such a huge fan base you'll get quite a lot of morons as well..

actually I must admit to joyfully booing Biaggi at Catalunya when he fell off. But then nobody likes Max.

nope sorry lads i can see the point, i wouldnt boo casey personaly but i can see why, he needs to get of his high horse he's won only a few races and now hes embarising himself by saying stupid comments about rossi.
i was on the floor laughing when he was saying things about rossi i felt embaresed for him, its not like hes a world champion or anything but could be soon?
stoner is riding tremendously atm
<
anyways looking forward to tommorows battle.

I love it when people seem to think that Stoner is arrogant for the confidence he shows in his abilities because he doesn't have a World Championship to his name. It's not as if he's been in the game for years and was never able to put it together. The guy is 21, it's his second season in MotoGP and first as a factory rider.

And please, anyone who criticizes Stoner's comments yet praises Rossi's honesty is 100 percent a hypocrite. I appreciate Rossi's honesty when he's interviewed, he tells it like it is. Yet at the same time, he's always very confident in his abilities and at times critical of other rider's behavior. How is that any different from what Stoner says? The difference is Casey Stoner's name doesn't start with Valentino or end in Rossi so therefore his words are those of treason, correct?

maybe because of this, not sure. same over here certain hockey players get booed, in certain buildings, as soon as they touch the puck!
MotoGP championship leader Casey Stoner has criticised conditions at Donington ahead of Sunday's British Grand Prix.

Stoner set the fastest time as rain hit Friday's practice session, with world champion Nicky Hayden second fastest and Randy de Puniet third.

"It's so slippery, it's like riding on grease," said the 21-year-old Australian Ducati rider.

"I think the wet conditions here are a little bit dangerous, maybe too much dangerous, especially in a race."

Reigning champion Hayden was less concerned about the conditions.

"It was a pretty wet, cold, slippery, nasty day out there," said the Honda rider.

I think this circuit really needs to do something about it because it's becoming a little bit too dangerous

Championship leader Casey Stoner

"But that's probably as much fun as I've had on the bike since Valencia last year, so I'm not going to complain about cold fingers."

Donington was resurfaced three years ago but Stoner said that had only made matters worse with the new 800cc machines.

The engine capacity of MotoGP bikes was reduced from 990cc to 800cc for this season in an attempt to make the sport safer by reducing acceleration speed.

However, the 2007 bikes are already matching and even surpassing last year's times.

"The old surface was pretty bad but nowhere near this. And now they've brought on this new surface, every year it has consistently got worse," insisted Stoner.

"With these long corners, and fast corners, something bad is going to end up happening.

"I think this circuit really needs to do something about it because it's becoming a little bit too dangerous, especially with these bikes."

Donington Park is next to the fast-growing East Midlands airport and planes come in to land over the track.

"A lot more planes are coming into the airport and it has to be all the fuel and everything that they are dropping over the circuit," said Stoner.

"This is the only reason it can be so bad - there is just no traction.

"I raced in England for two years and this is probably one of the worst circuits I ever rode on."

Its still ignorant.

Julian told the booers to buy Stoners leathers.

Well i didn't see any booing at Casey today. The circuit commentator even called him an honorary Brit (like they do when anyone english speaking does well). But the crowd has been a disappointment so far, the overwealming majority are smoking, binge drinking pikeys who don't realize that there are riders other than rossi.

Also, the litter left behind as we left the circuit was disgusting, why can't people have more respect.

again, the word doesn't fit the usage.

ig·no·rant /ˈɪgnərənt/
–adjective

1. lacking in knowledge or training; unlearned: an ignorant man.
2. lacking knowledge or information as to a particular subject or fact: ignorant of quantum physics.
3. uninformed; unaware.
4. due to or showing lack of knowledge or training: an ignorant statement.

booing doesn't indicate ignorance, it indicates the exact opposite of ignorance because when someone jeers/heckles/boos in this case, it's because of an acute knowledge of the situation which, by definition, again, is the exact opposite of ignorance.

like i said previously, feel free to disagree with the behavior and call it rude or crass or similar, but it's not "ignorant". in fact, the continued use of the term in this situation belies the ignorance of the user. ironic.

whatever. no more english lessons from me.
