<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (is200 @ Jun 25 2009, 01:59 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>All you guys who say Casey is moaning and whining are pretty ridiculous. Has it not occured to you that Casey was answering a question from the reporter????

If he had not answered them you would say he is a robot or arrogant for not taking the time to answer, he responds to what the reporter asks and he is now a moaner?!?!!? Come on guys a bit rich. Anyone with an IQ over 25 could tell he was in extreme discomfort after the race.

And as to the earlier post re why are we talking about the guy who got 3rd place, well that is what this thread is about. You are not forced to click on it if you would rather read/discuss something else.

I think we have been saying that from the start not just now

...., you mean nobody mentioned the 'tyre damage device' installed into the guards that is activated by a switch on the left handlebar, I mean, how dare they overlook the technical advantage.

Yes i know, however i think using this example to 'confirm' he is a moaner is pretty unfair. I would agree with you if he had called up the reporter and said, hey mate i puked in my helmet, publish that, it will make me look tough. But we both know it did not happen like that.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Arrabbiata1 @ Jun 25 2009, 12:39 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>That's just his way....I still have enormous respect for the guy, yeah he hams it up, but there are occasions that his complaints are legitimate - but it's unfortunately become like the boy who cried wolf. He has however got a long way to go until he rivals Sete as a drama queen.

Thing is, even when he dominates FP, qualifies on pole, and wins the race, something could've been better, either with the bike or his performance, much like Doohan - it's never perfect. That's just the way he is - and I have a shitload of respect for anyone that can take it to Rossi.

Why shouldn't he indulge in a bit of baiting as well? It amused me that he commented that Rossi's pass on Lorenzo was really nothing special, and in fact quite easy to pull off at that section of the circuit. Basically, he was saying that Lorenzo was caught napping, and Vale's move wasn't that extraordinary after all. 90% of this forum will disagree, but that's the idea, Casey doesn't make any concessions to popularity which is why I like him, but he also doesn't alienate in the Pedrosa way. I don't really care if he whinges - it amuses me; he's ....... quick, ....... brave, and his folks sold up everything to pursue his dream - and he's dutifully become a world champion, which in the era of the GOAT is one hell of an achievement.

where or when did he say this i missed it??

i kind of agree with him and kinda dont... i agree that the actual pass wasnt that special if it was done on earlier laps but... i know most will agree, after those few last hot laps rossi and lorenzo swapping possition's... adrenaline running high... on the last coner... then braking to get the bike back inline and taking the win is special... whoever would have pulled that move i would say ....... awesome.

thing is how can he say it wasnt special? has he ever pulled a move like that on that corner after a battle like they had? im not bashing stoner but didnt he run into a corner to hot a laguna and drop it in the litter whilst battling? so what makes him think going into that final corner way to fast, breaking, taking the win isnt nothing special.

IMO i wouldnt say he didnt sugarcoat it if he said that... sound's like a bitter remark to me, i have respected stoner for a while now but some of his remark's are really stupid.

but everyone is entitled to there own opinion.

He is only saying that because it is true. Stoner would have pulled the exact same move. One thing for sure Lori won't do it again, ever.

As I recall he pulled a very similar move on rossi on that very corner on the last lap in 2007, which may have prompted his comment . He admittedly had an acceleration advantage in 2007 which meant he had no need to block rossi's line after the corner in the lead-up to the finishing line.

I think you are one of the most fair-minded posters on the site, and I agree with you that casey can seldom be accused of being gracious. However I think there is an element of cultural difference; casey is imo usually not playing games when he makes these statements, just bluntly calling it as he sees it which, like arrabbiata, I find rather appealing in these days of bland statements by homogenous media-trained sportsmen. Rossi is a totally different case, possessed of style, grace and genuine wit in spades, but it is hard enough to compete with him as a rider without bring required to match him as a media performer as well.

fair enough good reply

wasnt that the race where rossi was chasing stoner and pedro's was hanging with them nitt picking not wanting to get involved lol.

yes i remeber stoner using almost the same line as rossi used to block lorenzo... it was rossi's win it or bin it dive for me that was special..going in so quick and hangin onto the bike.

Frankly no Rog. I know at anything over 200km/h it seems anything not strapped to me dissapears , you seriously expect a Roger style vomit to be covering a guy who has just done in excess of 200 mph!!

come on Rog. you are smoking the motorway fumes again man!

Something tells me you may be overestimating the quantity of "vomit" involved Rog. .... have a think about it

I was thinking that, if Rog. really wants to see the "proof" he should be looking on Dovi

Mind you given the "cyclonic" action of the airflow over the fairing ( why the rain don't get you much over 60km/h ) maybe it was flung into the crowd

and Dovi knew this ... so had extra impetus to stay close to Stoner

seems an unusual question for a reporter to ask " did you puke during the race casey" ?

it was more like "third place is a good finish casey, so tell us about the race"?
casey " i had no feel from the front and the bike was not running as well as it was friday, we tried new set up but we couldnt be competitive and oh by the way i puked twice during the races as well".

casey gave at least 3 excuses even tho he still podium. moaner fits him perfectly

You really have a Brit v Aussie problem mate.
Take everybody on their merits not because of where they are from.
We have great people & arseholes just as I imagine you do in England.
For what it's worth I knew you were takin the piss, hence the wink after my reply.
Doesn't mean I wasn't going to quote you when I can though.

same people. same .....

man looked sick to me. whether he puked or not is irrelevant imo. i was surprised he even finished on the podium. he definitely wants to win the championship. whether you like his personality or not, motogp would be pretty ....... boreing without him.
