Stoner has absolutely annihilated Caparossi this year and effectively ended his career at ducati.

Anyone beleive Melandri on the same machine as Stoner can match it with him?

Yeah melandri has won a 250 championship 5 years ago now, but only after the reigning champion and runner-up from 2001 moved onto motogp in 2002.

Personally i dont think he has the talent to challenge stoner.

Stoner has also been very lucky that conveniently ALL the problems have been with Loris' bike, but that's beside the point.

In a word...yes.

Hopefully Melandri will put that arrogant lil boy back in his place.

I think Melandri will be fast enough and will beat Stoner at times, but over a season i am yet to be convinced of Melandris consistency so i would expect Casey to place higher overall.

it would be good to see stoner end another rider's career. anyone who rides along side stoner will be made to look bad. just like doohan and rossi did to thier team-mates

Well I don't think Casey has ended Capirossis career at all, and i don't think he will end Melandris either. AS fro Doohan and Rossi ruining their team mates, i disagree as well. Criville made no secret of the facthe owed a lot of his 99 success to what he was able to learn from doohan wile they shared a garage, and do you really think Edwards would be doing any better elsewhere?

I'm a bit sick of hearing this "Stoner has ended Capi's career" bollocks.
Firstly, he's done what he's done with Ducati's help in screwing over Loris, & not only that, but let's not forget, Stoner did ACTUALLY end Sete's career in Estoril (I think it was) when he took out Sete, who was subsequently injured & never raced again & then added insult by taking his ride at Ducati.

I wouldn't mind seeing Sete ride wildcard, take out Stoner, ending his title charge & hopefully his career too.
I have never wished anything bad upon a rider but the more I hear this crap about Casey the more I'm beginning to wish him a nasty fate.

edwards is just a lacky to rossi. he is content being his little puppet. so long as edwards has no aspirations to beating rossi then rossi will be happy.

edwards knows this too, and edwards isnt in the same league as the rossi, stoner and pedrosa anyway. hes just happy to keep getting a motogp ride.

lol. rossi ended sete's career. rossi beat the crap out of him, he was too old and realised this. so he left. he had no more to give.

Yeah, but my point is that i wouldn't see him doing much better if he had a lower profile team mate, the difference would be marginal. But i would still respect him more if he wasn't so happy to be second best in the team and showed a bit more drive.

TOTALLY AGREE...Capirossi is the most ungrateful person that I have come across!! He’s just been TOOOO SPOILED BY DUCATI!!! LITTEL ....!!!

the reason why stoner has ended loris' career is because loris has been with ducati for 5 years now, has only ever been a mid pack rider and was the senior rider in 2007.

in 2007 his results have been no better or worse than in his previous 4 years. but a new rider with 0 expericence on the ducati has shown the potential of the bike.

if not for stoner, loris would still be riding for ducati, he would still be the main man, and they would be still complaining about the handling of the ducati

He hasn't been spoiled enough imo.

He & - to some extent - Troy Bayliss MADE Ducati what they are now, & what appreciation do they get? None.

Instead an arrogant little Aussie .... just swans into the team & everything is hunky dory, while Loris, who did everything for that team, is pushed aside & treated like ....!

Disgraceful if you ask me.

Don't be a fool, ducati are doing more than enough to try and help Loris up to speed, including building his a seperate engine spec to suit his style even though Casey is leading the chamopionship with the other one. And as much as i am sure Ducati are grateful for what Loris has done, this is still racing and it rediculous to expect them to hire an underperforming rider on his way down the ladder based purely on how good he used to be.

No not at all, I think Casey is doing a sterling job for Ducati, it's just a lil credit where it's due for the man who's been with the team since they started in GP would be nice, he's underappreciated, there's no two ways about it.

Livio Suppo can stick his Judas head up Casey's arse.

1. Championship contender last year, don't forget that

2. There was always going to be a second bike, and Capirossi has failed to get to grips with the 800 regardless of who else has one. If it wasn't Stoner there would probably be another rider who could adapt better and get superior results (not by as much mind) on the Ducati unless they were seriously unfortunate with their choice of second rider.

not really he was a championship pretender.

can you really say pedrosa is a contender this year?

after 5 rounds he got dropped off. every round he has been losing points to rossi and stoner. but yeah he is still in the running (mathematically)

i dont think hayden was worried about loris who was some 40 point behind. and neither was rossi worried too much about loris.

just because someone is close to you on the championship dont mean they are a contender. rossi knows he can beat loris 9 times out of 10.

In my opinion, Melandri is as talented as Stoner. I'm not sure if he can challenge Casey as he (Stoner) will have an early advantage.

Capi was a contender last year, simple as.
Without the Catalunya incident, who knows.

Not forgetting he finished, I think, around about a race win of points off Hayden at the end so...

I'm not blaming Stoner for anything, I dunno why peeps get on the defensive about him, all I'm saying is that Capi has not been shown enough respect by a team that could well & truly be stuffed without him.

Nah, it seems as soon as you've got someone who's younger & winning races, forget about the man who's been there for 5 years, & who, in his own words, started the whole project with Troy Bayliss.

Troy Bayliss, maybe the only likeable Aussie in Motorsport. In fact, certainly he is.
