Well, offering a ride to Melandri without telling Capi after only the year before there were headlines of Capirossi Gets Job For Life At Ducati - pfft!
I mean, the team saying they're offering this 3rd bike to Capi as a show of gratitude for what he's done, yeah...they only offer it to him AFTER they've given his place in the team so someone else.
What a slap in the face with a wet fish.

I wouldn't mind so much if there wasn't all this talk of Stoner destroying Loris etc.

I mean, there have been 2 races so far where Capi was near Stoner, the first, (either Donington or Assen) Capi passed Stoner with ease but DNFed from pushing too hard, & then at Saschenring Capi again was fortunate enough to be up the front & obliterated Stoner with ease & never looked back.

On even machinary & head to head, I still think Loris will always come out on top.

Because of the 2 examples I mentioned above, the only 2 times Capi has been near Stoner this year, he has passed Stoner with ease & left him for dead.

Stoner does a good job, but in 2 attempts he has not yet held off Capi & if Capi were to qualify better & not get himself chained down in the middle of the pack, he would be more than a handful for Stoner.

There have only been 2 examples of them "Head to head" as you say because despite the level playing field Casey has had him beaten by a distance in all the other races.

No Desmosedici65...Loris has NEVER DONE NOTHING IN THE 500/motoGP and he will never achieve anything will it be 2007/08/09/10...or the NEXT MELLINIUM!!!...Capirossi HAS BEEN A BIGBIG FAILURE IN THE 500/motoGP CLASS!!! True, but Loris has had a whole pack to contend with. Casey is alright leading from the front, & he rides an inch-perfect race always, but get him amongst a whole bunch of them like at Sachsenring & he clearly isn't as comfortable or impressive.

There's no taking away from the guy's talent or ability, but he has failed to impress me as a fighter so far.

we seem to be digressing from the original thread

i think marco will be a threat next year to casey.

just look at the results this season.

even though he hasnt been on the box so many times he is still the only other rider this season to get points at every single round.

the only other rider to do that is casey himself

True True...I agree that Marco will be Casey’s biggest TEST IN 2008!!! But then again he might NOT!!!...But If in 2008 there won’t be any other teams that will challenge the Ducati!!! Then Casey will have a very big battle with the great Marco as he’s a go for all type of rider!!! He’s proven this against Rossi and throughout the 500/motoGP championship years that he’s competed!!!

You make me ashamed to be Australian, shut your yap and dont even mention Ant's name..

I thought like many that Ducati had got it wrong when they employed "Crasher" Stoner but I've been proved wrong all the way. A lot of us think Melandri is the epitome of inconsistency but maybe once he's on a Ducati, he'll prove us wrong again. Often all a rider needs is to be in the right team and all his perceived weaknesses just disappear.

Of course, Marco might only be challenging Casey for fifth place in the Championship if Michelin and Yamaha get their act together and they watch as Rossi battles with Lorenzo for the title. Who knows?

Also, I can't understand the hatred! Life's too short to waste it on such negative emotions.
