Burgess, Stoner, Rossi, Capirossi, Bayliss re: 800 Ducati

Hey Matt,

I'll disagree that we should be comparing Stoner's 2007 performance on the Duc with Rossi 2011. In 2011 Rossi took over the bike Stoner had ridden in the previous season. As for yellow tinted glasses - go back and re-read the 2nd part of my post -- "Reality ........ it states very clearly that (ImO) 2011 - that Stoner is the M-A-N

On this one:

"Plus whore-gay pisses me off royally... Couldn't bear the thought of entering into discussions on here if it had to include him :) At least Vale was totally original... ;-) " -- you've got 100% of my vote. Do you reckon he's got that pissy monogram on more spots than his Yam

I appreciate that you say that, & just for the record I wasn't specifically having a go at you... It's just that some members in the past haven't exactly had the most balanced views ;-) For my part, I just love motorcycle racing in general despite the fact I was a very crappy "b" grade racer at best in my younger days... Now I prefer to simply get my fix vicariously thru MotoGP ( have broken less bones in the process too )!

As for JL... I actually understand what he's trying to do but to try to emulate VR with his various "celebrations" isn't really the wisest thing... Problem is that if he doesn't manage to find something extra over the coming months, he runs the risk of fading into obscurity just as his countyman Mr Criville did after winning the championship... The key will be whether he can manage to direct the Yamaha ship over the next couple of months / years & remain competitive, or will it be just like 2000 when Honda lost the plot in the absence of Mick Doohan? Might be time for Boy George to redirect his energies into his racing & park the flag for a while...

woofty, you've got me there........... awesome pic! Just highlights how skillfull he is and how sorted the Honda is. If he's spinning his rear tyre like that, will it not wreck it?

funny thing is ,at first i thought stoner simply rode around the ducs problems by sliding it the way he does but now on the honda hes sliding it more than before it seems (i maybe wrong of course, just an impression).

to be honest i didn't expect that this style would have such an advantage on a good bike over the competition, but i'm happy with that .we have enough "wheels in line" riders

as for tyres, i agree with barry and also stoner always uses the hardest compound so i guess that helps too
