Burgess And Crew To Follow Rossi To Ducati

I already braced this in the other JB thread, I have had the move confirmed by a carpenter who knows a guy who knows JB ........... never heard of Abrams though?

From reading this, it sounds like JB already knows how he will setup the bike for Val in Valencia. He also threw in a dig at Yamaha by saying they were at the end of their development cycle...i.e. winning ways.

Damn, I wonder which riders he had in mind when he said this?...................

“I can watch some of these lesser riders on the Ducatis and you can see that the bikes are, in my opinion, unsuitably set for what they want to try and do with them."

Uh Oh, if he is saying it about Hayden, is he going to become the Puig of Ducati

You never know with JB, I doubt this was directed at Hayden, my thoughts were the same as Ngads, it was directed at the Pramac riders and maybe to a lesser extent Melandri during his stint.

He was obviously referring to Kallio.

Anyway, looks like he knows more about the Duc than we thought. In his own words: It looks like he's already working for them...

Jumkie...in your honest opinion, and I believe I already know your answer, will Nick improve or suffer with JB/Rossi on board?

Nice reeds, thanks

Since a few weeks ago, more interviews has been published about JB and his future. I think if he hadn't signed the contract already, he wouldn't go that far in those details, otherwise it will look silly for him to talk with Yamaha about a new contract later. Or even Yamaha management would have asked him to publicly deny those interviews. I take it as a done deal.

but still i'll wait a while to congratulate him

Nicky has now become what Colin Edwards was to Rossi (and is to Tech3). A TESTER. His results are of no consequence. While Nicky remains Rossi's teammate, his career is over. Of this there is NO DOUBT. Les anybody forget exactly why Valentino has abandoned Yamaha and moved to Ducati, because of the audacity of the Japanese maker to give their riders equal treatment--something unacceptable and unconscionable in the mind of Rossi. Nicky Hayden has become a pond in the life of Valentino Rossi--Jumkie circa 2010

Nicky has said he's glad to see Valentino and his team come to Ducati as he knows the bike will improve....

That will probably be the case for all the Ducati riders.

Nicky will have his best year since 2006

Yea, it sucks, as I'll have to find someone new to root for in MotoGP. I've been a fan of Nicky's for a long time now and I have to say we Nicky fans have not had a lot to cheer about since 2006, only the occasional podium.....man, now I'm bummed.......!!!!!!

I think you are right. But, i don't think Nicky has another title in him. That being the case Rossi's arrival could help Nicky get a win or two that he may otherwise not have got. Do you disagree?

maybe more podiums for nicky? prolly won't win any championships but at least he can have better results than the past 2 years

Another article about JB and his move to Duc, it comes from Australia this time.

Aussie Burgess follows Rossi again

"Jerry stays with me until I retire," Rossi said.

"I've spoken to Ducati and I think it is all going to work out fairly well," Burgess said of his impending switch to Italy's famous red team.

"Motorsport is cyclic. There has been dominance by Honda and then over the past decade by Valentino and for much of that time with Yamaha.

"Now I think there is great potential to achieve something together on the other side."

Hi Jum

I see what ya saying but although i think CE is great he aint gonna get near Nicky nowadays, what i saw last Sunday proved to me that Nicky still has the fight in him & even when he loses a battle he doesnt whinge & moan like some others, he just gets his head down & keep working. He is THE hardest worker on the grid....dont underestimate the boy!

On the Yam/Rossi issue - I think we have seen what happens time & time again what happens when you have 2 number 1 riders/drivers = IT DOESNT WORK! (Hamilton - Alonso in F1)

Rossi probably has the biggest ego on the grid, infact im suprised it actually fits inside a helmet but to put Lorenzo next door is just suicide & look what has happended.

Its not the equal equipment i think Vale was miffed at, it was after all his AND BURGESS's work along comes Lorenzo & starts demanding this and that without doing nothing to earn it & Yamaha just giving it to him, that aint right. At least Casey earnt his .... by doing what he did on a bike knowone else could ride!

It will be interesting to see what happens with the M1 next season and especially in 2012, we will soon see whether they made the right decision?

Just my two cents - bottom line.....Dont count Nicky out yet, last time he was on a Burgess bike he brought home the gold, Go Nicky!

Hi Jum

I see what ya saying but...

Thanks for the encouraging optomism, I have no doubt about Nicky's determination. But saddly, I don't think it will be about that for the rest of his career while in this situation. Nicky rode Burgess' bike after Rossi left...that is the point my friend.

I thought Doohans point was very interesting, and I agree. Honda missed an opportunity, but even still, I don't think any amount of money would have convince Burgess to work with Stoner.

Nicky has to know he is in a ...... situation, specially after Rossi's feud with Lorenzo. He might have been better off on a satelite bike from Honda
