You are correct. It was a flippant remark. I still believe that it was an answer designed to get rid of the journo. Ezpeleta had three answers to choose from. 1. "Yes, the Ducati is ...." 2. "Yes, Valentino is ...." or 3. Make .... up. He took the last option. "Valentino will be on a competitive bike next year" says nothing about where. Maybe Ezpeleta had just met with Audi people (it was a car event after all) and been told of their plans to sink money and cash into Ducati. Ezpeleta had heard the same rumors at that point as everyone else, remember the story right around Qatar that Rossi would be riding a factory Yamaha in his own team with Coca Cola backing? It's a safe gamble to make, the Ducati can't get any worse and if Rossi does leave, there will be room for him somewhere. No shenanigans required, just a willingness to gamble.

Only 3 options, huh?

How about a plain:

"No one likes seeing a rider of Rossi's calibre struggle. I think we'd all enjoy seeing him back fighting at the front." A shorter answer than the one he gave, with a useful amount a equivocation. His answer doesn't look like a brush off. It looks like an effort to reassure.

I would also think that someone at Ezpeleta's level would have a better understanding of the veracity of the rumours you mention than we internetters. While I don't subscribe to the view that at this point, Rossi's move to Yamaha was all but done, I do believe his exit from Ducati onto a Honda or Yamaha was.

Well its Monday morning Japan time... cummon journos... what happened with the Dorna/MSMA meetings? Enquiring minds want to know!

you are so not worthy of your stoner of the year award.

other than that good post.

i generally advocate pot use : everybody roll it up and chill the .... out

I've let the side down. Honestly i'd legalise pot tomorrow, the government would too - they just haven't figured out a way to tax the .... out of it.

Studies have shown repeatedly that alcohol is by far the worst drug and its my best friend

Sorry Zoot, wasn't in a perfect frame of mind myself.

here's an idea: until someone gets the "genius" plan to tax it just like tobacco - just fully decriminalize it.money saved on pursuing users will be a huge saving.

I honestly don't know. Been fishing around for info but nothing yet. Will be chasing this for the rest of this week.

Our many thanks to you for your diligence and hard work Krop. Eager to hear... no whispers or leaks seems unusual...

meh, in the end it will be rev limited to 25k, fuel reduced to 200ml and instead of unlimited electronics honda will agree to drop the pit lane speed limiter.

honda is happy, ezy stands as straight as he can (which is leaned right over and tied to a table with a gagger in his mouth).

Repsol do rock trials! I would be happier seeing a whole lot more!

I used to do a bit of trials when I was younger - I am keen to return to it as a senior

My weapon of choice back in the day was a Kawasaki KT125 - nothing like a modern GasGas or Montesa. Keeps you fit, too! I was going to go back to club racing, but my wife managed to convince me I would break stuff
<

Screw the wife dude, I still ride regularly even though she doesnt like it, Or are you under the thumb?

I'm not talking about riding, I'm talking about racing. Riding has never been a problem - she has accompanied me across Europe, across Australia, across Asia, across America.

I'm far from under the thumb, we have a partnership. As such we discuss things that affect our future. Breaking things, right now, would be a real problem. I could go classic racing, but I don't want to spend the £25k it would take for a competitive ride. I can get a competitive trials bike for under £3k and spend around £250 a year in running costs. And not break anything...

As for screwing her, that too
