May 11 2010, Casey Stoner has signed with Honda HRC and will be riding for the Japanese manufacturer next season. This bombshell comes straight from Italian news website Sportmediaset and confirms the gossip that Livio Suppo was avidly trying to take Casey Stoner away from Ducati.



According to the Italians, Casey Stoner was not happy that Marlboro tried to sign Jorge Lorenzo last year when the Australian went on his three race sickness hiatus and that Honda has not been exactly jumping with joy with Dani Pedrosa especially after his hard and public criticisms, before his second place podium in Jerez.



Sportmediaset is also reporting that Ducati knowing that Stoner was leaving, immediately offered Valentino Rossi a two year contract with them. The two year contract also contains certain options that should appeal to the work ethics and independent attitude of the 9 times World Champion. Rossi has to the Mugello race in June to decide if he wants to ride for Borgo Panigale.



Silly season has now taken a new turn and it’s only the beginning.

Well now it's already getting interesting:



Rossi in 2011 will either be ON or IN something RED - Fiat & Ferrari are working on the latter, although Ducati is going to be a big temptation for him.

Looks like it'll be Spies and Lorenzo at Yamaha

Stoner is making a BIG mistake going to Honda, but then the money is going to be better than Marlboro
 
with all this speculation around, you notice how Pedrosa's name isn't popping up anywhere? Someone on here suggested him moving to Suzuki, which I thought was a great idea.

Lets assume this is true, and Rossi decides to stay put, which i believe he will, who does Ducati hire. Do they dare bring in the toxic midget and his ... handle. Do they hire from within the GP paddock, the Moto2 paddock or WSBK.

I've a feeling Pedrosa will gladly leave as his performance will "look the same" on almost anything on that grid; he's bad mouthed Honda enough to have annoyed the sponsors despite enjoying a major piece of the pie this far.



This juggling sure keeps the scene very exciting; Rossi to Ferrari/Ducati is only long due and I just wish his crew goes along with him...

Obvious choice would be Lorenzo....but if Repsol is done with Pedrosa, could have Stoner and Lorenzo so that Repsol still has a Spanish rider? That would leave out Dovi and Pedrosa...but Dovi could take the open seat left by Stoner thus giving Ducati an Italian rider......who the hell knows anything could happen, this Stoner rumor is just the first stone to be cast.

Is Spies not under contract for another year with Yamaha?

With Lorenzo looking more and more like a champion, does he leave the championship bike if he wins the title. If he does, would he be accused of chasing money instead of titles.

2 reasons why Rossi wont go to ducati.

1. he will not use cigarette sponsor's again. He was not keen the first time and told yam it was only for 2 years why they developed the bike. He went against his principle because ....... over hrc and making Biaggi look a .... made it worth it.



2. he does not like their PR commitments they insist there riders take part in. Plus there known to have an HRC attitude to riders.



Maybe ducati will change to get Rossi but i doubt it.
