My wife how allowed me to by a Ducati next year, but I think it will be a supersport.

I am thinking of trading the Blackbird in for a Hayabusa as well.

You could trade the Blackbird for a big chest of Snap Ons to keep the Duke on the road........

Pete

I don't know why but I quite like this bike. It's the same type of bike Les Graham rode in 1949 and won the championship with. Doesn't look very safe though.

No need to trade the bird in on tools as I have a monster set already. Besides I do most of the services (major and minor) on the Bird myself.

I know all about Ducati's and having to do Belts every 20k's and the costs of other goodies.

The Duc would be a weekend bike for me and the Busa would be my everyday hack, just as the Blackbird is now.

Is it an SS youre going for? I think the SS and the 851 and 888 look the absolute dogs danglers. The 916 shape never did it for me, there something hard as nails about the early 90s Dukes. Not a Duke man myself, but I'd like one for the mantlepiece!

Pete

Yeah I think a SS would be in budget. I would love a 996/998 but with a mortage, 3 cars and 2 bikes. I could not justify the outlay for a 996/998 with good miles on it.

A few of my mates have them, and love them to bits. The swingarm seems to be problematic on them, I know folks who have had to get them welded or fit an aftermarket one. But other than that, keep the belts fresh and enjoy from what I can gather!

i'm gonna make one thing clear...
the only "desire" for this bike would be to take a sledge hammer to it and the owner...

What a waste....

Pete

ridiculas. i would have put a long swing arm on it and lowered it and drag raced it, that just looks wrong, someone should take his tools off him.

And I can suggest where we could hide them!

I thought Les Graham won it on a 7R not the V4.
