Max Biaggi has refused the contract that Francis Batta was offering him to renew their partnership for 2008.

The Italian is asking too much money and since losing its main sponsor Corona, the Alstare team does not have the cash to meet Max's expectations.

Rumours say that Nieto could replace Biaggi.

A loss in talent but maybe a gain in sponsorship?

After leaving MotoGP, Biaggi could well be left without a ride in SBK as well... except if Ten Kate wants him but not sure Honda wants or if D'Antin finds cash to attract him back to MotoGP.

hmm.. i reckon hes a bit stuck up, this could end up backfiring on him seriously.

Does Biaggi still have something left to lose?

I thought he had already shot all of his toes off.

I used to get a lot a flack on another webpage about my comments on Biaggi's behaviour, attitude, and his view of his self importance. His refusal to sign a contract because he is not getting as much money as he thinks he is worth is just another example of why I think he should have retired and disappeared about 3 years ago.

And Max...You are only worth what people are WILLING to pay for you...and clearly you are not worth as much as you think....and just a final reminder that 2007 yet another top class title year you were unable to win!

Tgcom.mediaset.it speaks about the possibility to see Biaggi in MotoGP in Montiron's team along Dovizioso.

I frankly doubt it...

Biaggi is playing his cards, if he can't get what he demands he'll have to lower his salary, cause he ain't going back to MotoGP ever and there's nowhere else to go (AMA?).

Agree and disagree.

Agree with the not going back to MotoGP part but I temper that by saying I doubt he really wants to anyway with the rise in level of competition since he was last there.

Disagree in terms of having to lower his salary demands as that all depends on whether he feels that he 'needs' to ride next season or not. He has likely earnt more than enough money to not have to worry about where the next dollar comes from so do not see that he 'needs' to ride next year if he cant get what he wants.

Were I in a position to offer Biaggi a ride I most definitely would do so and would listen to his demands.

Initially you made me laugh but then I got to thinking Hmmmmmmmm
Doesn't Max live in Cali in the offseason.
That may not be so far fetched.

According to Eurosport on Sunday, Max heard that Bayliss was retiring and contacted Ducati and offered to ride for nothing. Hardly the actions of a man who is only in it for the money. And he is still in the chase for the WSBK championship. And the way he talked in an interview shown before the race, he was clear that he was happy in WSBK and preferred the atmosphere of the WSBK paddock to Motogp, describing it as "cold". Max has been a bit of a knob-head in the past but he seems to have mellowed this year. I hope he stays in WSBK rather than take a third rate ride in Motogp.

And the two races from Vallelunga were simply fantastic.

Yes and he's now second in the championship 29 points behind Toseland , and the way Toseland is tripping over himself Max could win the title.
Now wouldn't that be something, go Max.

What a nighmare that would be!!

I'd prefer that if Toseland were to trip over that Haga were to capitalise on his misfortune and go on to take the championship.
NOW, that would be something

It is for Toseland to lose the title...all JT has to do is stay within 1 or 2 places of Haga and Biaggi...

JT has also won at Magny Cours twice since 2004, and Once was last year for Ten Kate in Race 1 and he got a 3rd in Race 2...Magny Cours sealed second in the championshiop last year for JT......so In short, he likes and knows this track....

Besides...does anyone think Haga will let Biaggi win the title or take second in the championship after what Max did to Nori in Misano?
I sure don't think Nori has forgotten or forgiven...and the Samurai of Slide will be Haga'n Biaggi at every corner he can to make sure he gets Second in the championship or Win the whole damned thing....

Should be a very exciting racing weekend in WSBK...COME ON JT!!!!

I find the perception that the public have of Max interesting as it is based purely on the media and the way things have been presented which definitely have been poor at times.

But, people I know who have worked within the GP circus when in Oz have all remarked that Max is one of the genuine nice guys of the paddock when his 'race face' is lowered. Near all of these people rated him far nicer than many others with 'more personable' profiles.

I say all good luck to him as IMO is is to good a rider to not have a ride somewhere and easily one of the best still running around.

will agree with you there. the way he has ridden this year as a WSB "rookie" shows that despite his flaws, max is still one classy rider....and as mad as a box of frogs still!

Rossi shows up and Biaggi throws it down the road....

I still pull of the guy.. (I don't know why) but Go MAX!!1

I think you can buy or just watch at www.worldSBK.Com
I just watch EuroSport...

Biaggi's qualifying lap was great, and looked unbeatable then JT, Neukirchner, Corser, Haga and Lanzi pull the pin out and pushed Max back to 2nd row. Toseland, pulled 4ths of second out of nowhered in the last 3rd of lap AWESOME work.
