Who do you think has better MotoGP coverage? Eurosport or BBC? Our TV coverage in the US (Speed TV)is a disaster. And I have been checking out the (much better) coverage provided by BBC or Eurosport.

If you had to pick one, which would it be?

"TV coverage in the US (Speed TV)is a disaster" - you're being very polite - it totally fxcking sucks - commercials every 6-9 minutes - even sunday morning at 8. - I'm looking fwd to the replies on BBC or Eurosport so I can look for something other than Speed - although Laguna & Indie may be better on Fox

Arrabi has the answer to this question. Hes probably up in a gondola some where in Palm Springs. But when he's back, I'll ask him to give you the definitive answer himself.

Eurosport is always interrupted by adds altho i always enjoyed Spalding's take on things. Sure the bbc commentary is .... but imo eurosport aint much better. Who the .... listens to these mupperts anyway ?

I have just put the last race from bbc on disc for you. There is a great part at the beginning all about Hayden. He is driving a AMG merc.

And I missed that because I watched the Eurosport version..

Thanks guys for the positive replies..

Regd SpeedTv, the best action always happens when they cut out to commercials. And we get the crappy Creamer voice over giving us the highlights of the action we missed -- with a lot of mis-information. I am beginnign to think they do this intentionally as the their broadcasts are delayed.

i cancelled sky years ago now so i dont watch Eurosport anymore

i swore by it mainly for the Moody.Ryder.Mamola.Spladers crack and for years it was the only place to see Quali and the 125/250 races etc

its been great over the years

Yeah they have commercials and if i remember @laguna 08 they missed some great action because of commercials there was 9 laps to go

but they only came back live just as Stoner binned it at the end of that lap they missed the early battle on that lap Rossi round the outside of turn 2 .? .3 etc

The BBC coverage i can live with the pre show is ok and you see uninterrupted action the whole race

the cocks and gang dont do it for me as commentators but another plus is the BBC show the 125,moto2 with Emmett etc covering the commentary

so all in all as i dont watch EUROSPORT anymore so id give the BBC uncut Coverage a heads up but not for there commentators

and theres a rumour Eurosport may go as a premium channel soon which means you'll have to pay extra ££$$ for it not matter what package you have with sky/virgin etc

also reading ppls replys over the years the BBC and Eurosport coverage is better than most around the world so i cant complain what the UK Gets as regards Bike racing coverage plus we get BSB and WSBK Coverage
<

Eurosport commentary is far better than BBC, and more knowledgeable. Eurosport no longer has adverts during MotoGP races, occasionally on WSBK races, but the draw back with them is that they cannot show MotoGP races live.

Charlie Cox, ex car racer, on the BBC is so dull and boring at times he makes me want to turn off but I'm a stickler for live. He always comes lowest in polls for his commentary. The BBC can sometimes be really cutting it fine with race starts, Laguna sticks in my mind, and sometimes you don't even see the podium at the end, let alone the post-race interviews.

If the Beeb employed Moodie and Ryder, and gave a bit more time like they do with Formula Yawn, that would be the best way forward IMO. So, my response to the question is Eurosport.

No contest, no discussion needed. There is only one place to watch motogp. BBC does a decent job of the pre-show and has the live coverage but Charlie Cox is stupid, annoying, dull and quite rude about the riders he doesn't like. Parish maybe an ex racer and a famous joker, but his commentary isn't all that thrilling. Toby and Jules are the best commentary team on any sport i have seen on tv in recent years by miles.

Remember when ch 5 used to show motogp? i thought their coverage and before and after show was great. remember the van der gerburg tech talk ?

We get the BBC feed in australia with one "commercial" break which is a 30 second add for either insurance or a bike. Same thing across all three classes, and we get motoGP quali live.

Here in Spain we usually have awesome coverage with little to no adds. My only issue are the comentators, most of them really suck at everything. They normally even fail to say correctly what's going on play by play style.

Criville is the most "talented" of them all. Nieto should be up there but he let's his feelings take over 100% of the time.

I'm an American....... so in case all you foreignors don't know, here in the US of beautiful mutther effin' A, motorsports are the least desirable form of sport next to bowling. So, no surprise our coverage of MotoGP SUCK AZZ.

In a way I'm REALLY REALLY happy that is the case with Americans not soo much into motorsports, seeing how ignorant and stupid most American fans of sports are. Take football for example, in you foreignors' case...... 'American Football'. The team Oakland Raiders is litteraly a gang. If you go into their stadium sporting the opposite team on game day..... you'll probably end up in the hospital.

Well then again come to think about it, you Europeans are just as bad with your 'Soccer', football for you guys, when the .... hits the fan.

Still. Glad motorsports here in the US isn't that popular, or else it will turn into a circus. Die hard fans here in The States should breathe a sigh of relief me thinks. Just my opinion.

Baffy yep I'm happy with oneHD - like listening to DBeattie then live cross to the BBC love my motogp Sunday nights, yep live quali is a bonus.

post - having been fortunate enough to visit the US for work the last 10-15yrs I have been taken to a couple of your "football" games - due to where I go for work Nashville/Frisco, I watched a Titans and 49er's game, Titans no crowd problem but plenty of rednecks compared to 49er's whoa that was different re the crowd
<
but my thoughts were how can people watch this game for so long
<
breaks for tv ads etc its a circus not a bloody game ! I appreciate some of the skill but ....... boring
<
sorry off topic.

You're kidding aren't ya? One HD sucks ... DB is the only good thing about it. They cut to the ads at the worst times and we have to put up with a Kiwi car racer in the commentary. I didn't know we could get a BBC feed
<
... will have to look into this. The only reason I got FOX years ago was for the motoGP, after which they moved to OneHD.

stormypete - virtually 1 -2 ad break doesn't upset me - as I said I like listening to DB I never mentioned the other 2.

I'm the same Foxtel motive was purely my motorsport passion especially motogp and was pissed it changed to oneHD but I'm just thankful its there nonetheless.

Can't argue with that .. Sunday nights would be pretty desolate without it.

Easy answer for me eurosport, even if I had to pay for it, hate the bbc which is a premium channel anyway and am sure eurosprt wont be £145 a year!

Bbc can suck my balls!

Why do you think DB etc doesn't commentate the entire race? They open etc then run the BBC feed thats why we get the pommy commentators.

I wish Kevin Mcgee was working for oneHD best commentator out.

One HD is great

and Talps hates it and was going to get it pulled off the air

that had to be one of the funniest posts ever .......... along with Jumkie was going to remove Talpa

OneHD is probably not Rossi-centric enough for Talps though

Oops ... misunderstood this completely, I thought others were referring to perhaps a BBC feed via foxtel (or something?) where there are no ads. Think Ill stick my head back in now.
