Ciao,

I thought this would make a good thread.............will Chris V fair better than Shakey did on the Honda? Ok, he has the home track advanatge.............but that mule is a whole different bike as we know his WSBK bike.

I'll be very impressed if he can finish in the top 15.

Cant wait for the race!

It is going to be great to watch...
It will be on at 11am here on the East Coast in the States on Speed channel.

While Chris is a great rider he has next to no experience on the GP bike..I don't expect him to be in the race for long.

He's a very talented rider on a track he knows and loves. I honestly think he can finish in the top 10.

Chris V Shakey battle of the no hopers, can't vote on that

I'd rather compare him to the real opposition you know real GP riders not pretend ones, I'll highlight the one I think his better

Vermulin v Barros
Vermulin v Sete
Vermulin v Melandri
Vermulin v Edwards
Vermulin v Max
Vermulin v Hayden
Vermulin v Capirossi
Vermulin v Checa
Vermulin v Hopper
Vermulin v Roberts Jnr
Vermulin v Nakano
Vermulin v Jacque

Now please come along and tell me how you think he might be better than any of those riders

Well Norrick Abe was always a mid pack finisher aboard the satellite Yamaha in 2004, Vermeulen seemed to beat him pretty senseless in WSB. Not only is Vermeulen more talented than Abe who generally placed between 10th and 15th, Vermeulen has a better bike and knows his way around the track rather well. That is my reasoning for seeing Vermeulen taking a top 10 this weekend at the Island.

i honestly think that he will get in the top ten i think that he is a great rider. All duo respect to shakey cause he has got the bottle to go out there and ride but i thik chris v will do brill

good luck chris

love rossi biggest biggest biggest biggest biggest fan xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>better bike

I think that will account for most of it, gee I bet Rolfo, Xuas, Elias, Bataini would put Vermulin to the sword on that bike

frosty frosty frosty are you telling me ya gonna pick Vermulin over Rossi (.... I'm gonna die laughing)

I thought that could be the one name I could leave off. I was hoping to hook one of the Vermulin fans with that one and slaughter them

hahahahahahah theres lots of this and that going on over the vermy issue cum on lets face it he shudnt be in the top ten really but hes got talent so im saying top 8 will be great for him just dont want him to slide as wsb,, cus if he trys hes off,
ive said my peace on shakey not guid enough even with 4 more year.. so if ive got spinters then fair enough... quallies will tell us allllllllllllllllllllllll..

I'm with Ooost. i've actually made the exact prediction when it was announced on another forum. Top 10 is definately doable. It doesnt matter though - they are just grooming him and giving him a taste of whats to come in the next year or two

Xaus can ride Superbikes and MotoGP machines that handle just like Superbikes (Ducati Desmosidici) just like Bayliss and look how my boy Troy has fared this year. Not well. Xaus is struggling on the rider friendly M1, the RC211V would give poor Ruben all sorts of trouble.

I really like Elias and I'm not sure what his talent potential will be, he may be on the same level as Vermeulen or he may not.

Battaini, you're joking right? No offense to Battaini because anyone who rides these machines are extremely talented but Battaini couldn't hack 250s much less MotoGP. On equal machiney Vermeulen would absolutely destroy poor Franco.

I think Vermeulen can do better than Shakey and Bayliss. Troy is one of my favourite riders but i think the RCV is too much of a 'GP' machine for him. He cut his teeth on superbikes and the RCV is not that.

Same goes for shakey. Top bloke, hes great but he also learnt on superbikes. Shakey says hes confused cos part of him wants to stay in motogp and fight the worlds best and test himself against that. As does any rider in the world, motogp IS the premier class.

I think Vermeulen is still young and (even though troy is one of my favs) has more talent than troy and shakey, he seems very clever and focused, i think chris COULD do very well on sunday, but if he fails to deliver a top 15 finish, a lot of people will rate him down.

I think if Vermeulen did 2 race meetings he could achive a top ten finish. My point is that i believe vermeulen has what it takes to be a front runner in motop, he just needs time and one race might not be enough, he needs a bit of luck at the start of the race.

Good luck chris.

ron ur spot on there m8,,, one thing he seems to do is make himself hard to overtake which shud go down well in moto gp... i for 1 wont slate chris iffffffffff he dosnt get top 15..
