Australian Supersport Rider Killed

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (SuperShinya56 @ Apr 9 2009, 01:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>That stupid AMA or DMG or whatever it's called series racing at Daytona is very dangerous. If a rider should have some sort of mechanical problem on the oval part of the track on the long straight.....there's nothing there except a concrete barrier to stop them.

correction, SS....all superspeedways have installed the safer barrier in the outside and inside walls....it is an energy absorbing wall that lessens the impact the driver faces....it was installed a year or two after Earnhardt Sr. was killed there......

condolences to the racer and his friends and family...

Are you freakin' kidding me??? It does not matter if the wall consists of marshmallow clouds high above the beautiful blue sky. When you hit a barrier at a certain angle, your body will be like a pretzel. Just take a look at Daijiri Kato..... the barrier he hit was of those soft sponge like barriers, and he still died from the impact. So don't come off spouting off ridiculous nonsense. And btw, those safety barrier walls were put in place to lessen impact of cars.... not the flesh and bones of a human body. Laguna Seca's long start/finish line straight is the same too....also dangerous around the little bend going top speed on those motorcycles, if anything should go wrong there, nothing but a concrete wall to greet you.
