Assen prediction

Last year, Stoner was fastest in most sessions, and was much faster than Rossi. Rossi found something that gave him over half a second a lap for race day. Tyre choice, something in the setup? He has a very very good team, and good equipment.

Last year Rossi ran just under 1'37.5 in the race, so I think that 36s will be necessary on race rubber, if a rider wants to win it.

I want Stoner to win,(and the next couple as well), with Lorenzo 2nd, and perhaps Dovi or Hayden to take some more points out of Pedders and Rossi, and really light up the Championship.

Yeah, no pressure because there are no Britts at assen

Sorry, but the pressure is on. He knows Assen so a good performance is expected and there are a ton of Britts there.

FP3 2007

I know Hayden likes this track, and seems to be getting along with his new bike better so that is why he is in my top 5. 4 and 5 are interchangable.

1. Rossi
2. Lorenzo
3. Stoner
4. Hayden
5. Pedrosa

The usual suspects:

1. Rossi - eats Assen alive, even with poor quali/starts (see Assen 2007 for example of amazing in race riding)
2. Stoner - bike is dialed and had a great ride there last year, but Rossi has track advantage
3. Pedrosa - Mr Consistent for 2008, see 2006 for a chance for him to win the overall this year

It's really not much fun predicting the top 3, the real challenge is to pick 4th - 10th.

4. Edwards - consistently finishing 4th or 5th, seems to do well at Assen (except for 2006, woops)
5. Lorenzo - looked good at the Brit GP, fantastic ride thru the pack, but holding it back a bit
6. Dovi - has been getting great starts giving him great position and fights thru out the race
7. Hayden - will qualify/start good, but fade back, hate to say it but that's his role this year
8. Vermi - did well at Donington, and those usually in front of him are hurt (ie - Cappers and JT)
9. Nakano - had a good ride in Donington, consistent 9-12 finisher (but higher this time due to others injuries)
10. Hopkins - if the bike will stay together and not experience another mech problem

1. edwards 1st win!
2. dovi top honda!
3. lorenzo back on the box!

rossi chunnks a tire
stoner blows an engine
pedrochio throws a chain

the commentators tried to make out Nicky and Dovi had the same bikes before Donnington... What a crock of .....

Nicky should have been able to beat Dovi with the spring valve, the factory team is always the fastest.

He can't even beat him with the new engine which is faster even more.

FP3 2007

OK, pick the only session where Rossi was faster by a few hundredths.

I must have missed that. There are the mid 37s that Rossi could run in the race, and Stoner could only manage high 37s.

1. Rossi
2. George Lawrence ( jorge Lorenzo )
3. James Toseland
4. Dovi
5. Hayden
6. Edwards

Ped and stoner both bin it.

Rossi and Jorge celebrate by smoking a massive Joint whilst wearing clogs all on the cool down lap !

Rossi was obviously in unstoppable form on raceday, but stoner did crash in the warm-up and was slower in the race than would have been expected from his practice times.

With some showers here and there anything could happen. One or a few could be surprised by bad grip and do what Stoner did last year but with worse consequences.
It's probarbly going to be the usual guys at the top.But who is going to be 4th?

I meant no pressure like his 'home' round. Of course he's got better knowledge of Assen because WSBK have been going there for years and only went back to Donington last year, so Toseland hadn't raced there for a long time, let alone on a MotoGP bike, and he had a mechanical in one of the races.

Toseland usually seems calm and focused so I was surprised about his Donington weekend. Hopefully he can get back on form or better.

Me too..Hope JT and other SBK rider will perform better this weekend at Assen, at least top five for JT if not on the podium....
