My attitude to poor Marco prior to his fatal crash was pretty similar to Proust’s in regard to Senna, but I of course was devastated by his death, footage of which I have fortunately managed to avoid after having watched the similar supersport incident live a few years before, it made me question following a sport I love and have every sympathy for his family and partner. I think that was part of the reason for Stoner retiring actually, his wife was close to Marco’s girlfriend. I don’t know what I would do if I encountered Marco’s dad, I guess I wouldn’t pretend to have been a fan, but he would have my genuine sympathy.

I have spoken to Holypuck in PMs quite a bit. He’s a cool guy and I would very much like to see him post here again, but please stop using him as a martyr. He left on his own accord and it sounded more like he was taking a bit of a time out rather than a permanent goodbye.

No one has any right to bring him up as an example when they have stayed silent about Tatlock’s departure, a poster who was actively bullied out of the forum (Which didn’t happen to Holypuck).

Mike your final sentence is my exact point. If I said all of the things I did about Simoncelli that Kesh did, the absolute last thing I would do is approach his father of all people and pretend like I never said anything. That is low class as it comes, and hypocritical. What or how do you think Paolo would react if he knew this stranger who approaches him said the things he did about his late son? My guess is he would have to be physically restrained from assaulting the stranger, assuming he didn't get that far already.

This is not a critique of you, but of this forum. There's a group of what I would call "neutral" posters who get bent out of shape the moment anything deviates from their notion of what this forum is. They overlook when people are being slandered and disparaged. I didn't see too many people speak up for Jumkie in the middle of that episode. A known liar continues to lie about everything and people look blindly in the other direction because well "we can't have that boat rocked!"

No-one is defending Keshav, and many people have disapproved of things he has said in the past. As has been said he is not engaging you guys now, and you are being criticised for taking over every thread for your personal crusade and being obnoxious to new posters, not for your views on Keshav per se. We have heard those views, and would now like to discuss bike racing on a bike racing forum. Perhaps you could seek out a religious forum if obsessive dogmatising is what you favour.

Keshav is laughing his ... off right now, liking all your posts, while you continue to give him carte blanche to be a horrible person, devoid of consequences.
He very much would like everyone to “talk racing” right now, because it will take the heat off his latest transgression.
You, Povol and Worthless are doing everything you can to move things along and make sure this gets swept under the rug.
Not only do you not call him out, you let him say these things and then you engage him like nothing ever happened.
This forum is gone. Stop fighting it. It was clear to me when you, Gaz and Bird wrote essays saying how much you love Jum but “talking racing was more important than his good name.
You should have just said nothing because all it did was show everyone how irredeemable this place is.
The only worthwhile solution at this point is for all the people that whine about fighting is to leave. Leave the forum to real people that show backbone and can call out Kancer when it rears it’s ugly head. We don’t need moderation, we need people that really care

No one has disapproved of half of the things he said. No matter how much you wish this to be true, the record reflects otherwise. How many people sat there and said nothing when he lies and slanders or disrespects the dead and then approaches the dead's family member like he never said these things? Instead there is nothing but the sound of silence to what he says.

I don't give a flying .... what people want to criticize me for on here. I'd rather be criticized for standing up for friends or the dead than to sit by with my thumb up my ... which is what you've done.

I am sure JK and JPS are sincere about defending their friend (Synn imo if not a sock puppet is just along for the ride) but while I have supported their case in the past it has got to a tedious level, particularly the constant examination of posts from posters old and new for doctrinal purity, with none qualifying of course, sins of omission being assessed if there is nothing else to point at.

To be sure, I never pretended to be anything. I paid my respects to a father who lost his son, yet continues to contribute to the sport which in and of itself is noble, and deserving of respect regardless of how Marco handled himself on track. As to defending myself, I can’t be bothered. There will be those devoted to their ludicrously jaundiced mindset who will mis-conflate anything I say and their drama is not my problem.

I have never put anyone on ignore, even Pinky, Shinya and CSCVAW in the old days and never will on principle, but I am not interested in perpetuating this poisonous debate so won’t reply to matters regarding it, particularly if possible throwaway lines are to be subject to such deep exegesis. I don’t read or reply to PMs about these matters because if I am to participate in the forum I am happy to say anything I have to say on here.

For the final time Jumkie is I gather Mexican, he and not those who are not Mexican gets to decide what is offensive to him. Similarly and admittedly at several quantum levels removed from the problem of prejudice and discrimination against those of Mexican extraction in the USA which I have observed first hand in Southern California, Keshav gets to be the judge of whether he was offended by that picture Roger posted back at the start of all this. Trivial to others , not necessarily to him.
