Any news on Neukirchner and his replacement?

Can we start a signature drive and get Mladin to wildcard? (its not like his 7th title is in danger)

We can but hope, i'd love to see this!

Jumkie, how do you think Mladin would fare if this happened? I've heard a lot about him and Spies but I can't watch AMA so have only seen a few races etc. Would he be as impressive as Spies out of the hat? I know the Suzi isn't as quick as the Yam and he won't have had the benefit of preseason testing, but Max will be out for a few races which might give him time to get used to it? And ok, its not the best bike out there, but the Suzuki is certainly no slouch...

it would be good to see/compare but i dont think mladin would bite..kyalami is also a "ducati" track because the twins dont suffer quite as much loss of power as the higher revving 4's. that said, spies will probably do the double! of the current riders, if memory serves correctly, only haga, corser(out), biaggi and checa have been there before so their track knowledge might give them an edge for the first practice.

wonder if they have found sylvain guintoli's phone no. yet?

Thats a very interesting point Al.....

dunno about mladin doing it, but it'd definitely be interesting if he did a wildcard or two.

for you guys who can't watch ama stuff, mladin's definitely on par with spies.. he actually won more races than spies on the track last year.. but on two of them got disqual'd for some crankshaft legality.. anyway it was always a good fight and you never knew who was going to win.. although i dont know how fast mladin would be to learn new tracks..no doubt he has the american ones down by now, but say they were on equal machinery again, you could expect to see him at the front.

I consider Mladin an equal to Spies (sometimes better and some time less, but only by a hair). I think if Mladin where to make a wildcard appearance we would see them have an epic battle on a 1-2 finish. If the Suzuki is the issue (though Max X seems to get on well enough with it) then Mladin would ride above his head to prove a point (all speculation of course, but the AMA record supports my view).

Anyway, I am still bummed about Max X, he is such a nice lad and very talented. That is two Fing years he has now been torpedoed! Both times while leading!!! What does a guy have to do to catch a break?

I just saw the race again last night. Man, that track is DANGEROUS! I said it last year too, geez can they put up any more steel guard rails all around the track? That place is way worse than Suzuka.

That race was worth watching twice. That was one hell of a battle.

Max N., get your pizza and get well soon man, we need you back on the grid

Hey, did you see the supersport? (Yes, we finally got it on Tuesday, SPEED
<
)

Wow, that race was awesome! Crutch, Laverty, they are wicked. Haha, Foret wants to beat his teammate even if it cost him a limb. All=outstanding racing.

Also, may I add, I'm not at all disappointed to see SoFAGlue struggling. I know its petty, but I'm still pissed at his chicken-.... tantrum hand gesture at Josh Hayes. So fuckem

No one here, or in the commentary booth, mentioned that Ruben Xaus has been to Kyalami before. His rookie season with Ducati Infostrada in 2001. All the while Jack Bernicle was naming every former GP rider despite the fact they had ridden Welkom rather than Kyalami until Jamie Whittam finally corrected him. Still, no one remembered Xaus has been there.

Mat's a complex guy but after reading some of his columns in Austrailian Motorcycle News (AMCN) I'd have to believe if there was ever a time when he would be tempted it would be now. Although comfortable as the "guy" in the States he is quite obviously dissatisfied with the state of affairs in the current AMA/DMG "superbike" farce.

Mat is at least an equal talent to Spies, and IMHO, due to his experience, less prone to error in new situations. He would be competitive "out-of-the-box".

There has been a theory floating around for years that Mladins style did not fit the free flowing European tracks. That theory got more legs when they started going to Miller and Mladin struggled there since it is supposed to be the closest thing in the States to a European type race track. I dont buy it but you never know. The same thing has been said about Hayden and its geeting harder and harder to argue that its not true.

And if memory serves me correct, he podiumed!

I've NEVER heard of such a thing. That sounds .........

First of all, not winning at Miller is hardly conclusive, since he podiumed. 2nd, Euro tracks not agreeing with Hayden? Hahaha, I guess his 20 plus podiums on them tracks is conclusive of the theory?

max biaggi has raced kyalami, in 1992. he won the 250 race there. the track was then re-developed and became unsuitable for gp's if memory serves correctly. wsb went there later and motogp went to Phakisa Raceway(Welkom, pronounced velkom) in 1999? had forgotten that xaus was so old...
