SBK QP1 Results

Very important weekend ahead, but some bad news has come to light about next season. On OTT's live show, both Dave Williams and Evan Williams revealed that Suzuki will not be paying any riders for next season. Despite reductions in cost, running an SBK team is still $1.5m per season which according to Evan is causing the teams to seek a franchise system in order to force the sponsors to support the existing teams. Mixed bag.

Pegram has lost his contract with Ducati (or they've mutually parted). Williams & Williams seem convinced that it is a Honda or a Kawasaki. RRW have said that Kawasaki are a no. Can't believe it's going to be Honda though.

Anyway, check it out on the OTT site. They might do a live show tomorrow.

Thats a point for Herrin, lead the most laps and win, and he is within 4 points with one race to go

Apparently, Herrin and Eslick had a coming together in turn 2 late in qualifying. Herrin says he came out of the pits in front of Danny and Danny tried to go underneath in turn 2. Danny crashed, and he didn't show up for the press conference. I don't know if it's b/c he was pissed or if he is mildly injured following the crash.

Cardenas draws first blood. Seller was in a win it of bin it situation. He didn't win it and he didn't bin it. Hate to be in his shoes right now even though he scored an awesome result. Championship is literally wide open now. Whoever wins tomorrow takes down the title. Could be wet tomorrow so who knows what the hell is going to happen.

Not exactly, but very close. They all need to be thinking, i need to finish ahead of that guy..If Cardenas or Eslick win, they win the title. If Herrin wins the race, Cardenas can finish second and win the title. Or here is a wild and possible scenario. Cardenas leads most laps, Herrin wins race and Cardenas finishes 3rd, you have a tie in points wit Cardenas taking title on #of wins

I really needed Sellers to win. Aquino, what an interesting way to follow team orders. Herrin needs to send Wesby flowers. Eslick totally ...... up his set up. .... Cardicknas.

Tommy, too little too late. Perhaps that win robbery may hav made difference. 18 points, last race is academic, Hayes 2010 AMA Superbike champ. Much respect too, he didnt hav to ride like that yesterday. In his words, i didnt want to go out like a punk. Haha.

I'm okay with it if Martin takes down the title b/c he hasn't attempted to murder anyone for 2 seasons.

No telling what's going to happen today though. It pouring down so this is going to be an absolute nail biter for everyone. Rain means a lot of guys are going to push for the win in SBK which means Hayden is going to have to push which means Hayes can't let him go. I'm really glad I'm not in Hayes' shoes right now b/c this is going to be a nail biter.

Same is true of DSB. Nail biter from start to finish with a bunch of wet weather heroes mugging people in an attempt to get a victory.

Insane. I'm watching DSB live timing. The two Project 1's were out front but they both crashed out. Don't know if it was coincidence or if they took one another out. Cardenas was well clear of Eslick and Herrin, but now the race has been red flagged. This is almost too nerve wracking.

Hope everyone is okay

Congrats to Martin. He deserved to win this season. Eslick ridin' dirty. The AMA are probably going to start him on probation next season. I think he must have rammed Herrin at least a half dozen times during Race 2.

.... Cardicknas. He won because uncharacteristically, it seemed Eslick was more concerned with ramming Herrin than he was about wining. WTF? Oh and Wesby & Sellers, you can't win like that son.

Congrats to Hayes. Deserved the win. I'm bummed for Tommy, but he just got beat.

The fastest rider won the title, it would have almost been a shame if he hadnt.. I was pulling for Herrin so maybe my view is a little tinted, but Eslick was over the top in his effort to take him out. Starting next season on probation is not enough, he was purposely trying to take out another rider, and in the mean time, cost himself a shot at the title, and could have hurt or killed another rider. Herrin would get his ... whipped, but he should have walked up and sucker punched Eslick during interviews. Sometimes you have to make a stand, regardless of the outcome. Eslick bullied his way to a title last year, and was even worse this year when he didnt have the dominant bike. I lost a lot of respect for him yesterday.

No doubt something deserves to happen to Eslick whether it's fines or probation. I don't know whether Danny has the cult of personality working for him, but more often than not, other riders generally give him a pass even though he has a tendency to use his bike as a battering ram.

Herrin, on the other hand, draws scorn from everyone who races close to him. I've never understood the whining about Herrin, but it persists nevertheless.

Just from what ive heard, Herrin is sort of the Prima Donna of the paddock, and Danny is the good ole boy, kind of the the Earnhardt of the paddock.Everyone tries to stay on his good side so they just get bumped out of the way, instead of drop kicked. I have been waiting for Herrin to grow a set for 3 years, it might not be in the cards. He is undoubtedly fast, but appears to be mentally fragile. As far as Eslick, until someone stands up to him, his bull in a china shop style will remain. I doubt Nascar/ DMG will do much to him, they love this ..... Yarborough vs Allison, Earnhardt Vs Waltrip, Earnhardt Vs the world, Spencer Vs Busch, Harvick Vs Lagano, Harvick vs Hamlin, its good for ratings.

well i just finnished watching the races because speed sees fit in airing them at ...... midnight here in the east!

morons....

what the .... was danny eslick thinking! he seemed to give a .... about winning the championship just to try & punt herrin off the track! & blazingly blatant about it! stupidest thing i've ever seen... entertaining but stupid. if i were the team principle i'd be pissed at that knuckleheadedness! if he goes to sbk next season he won't get away with that .... with those boys. herrin shoulda just rammed his ... off the track...i know i would have.
<
anyhow the dsb series should did not disapoint some great racin all season & as much as i did not want cardenas to win i gotta give it up to him... congrats. i'm stoked hayes won the sbk title doin a great job for yamaha & deserved it. bummed for tommy but i think he new it was over already & he went out with a win. good to see young come back & win 1 & hopper in there too. next year should be even better with everyone healthy... we could have 4 or 5 goin all the way to the end!
