Alex Barros condemned to pay Altadis USD 2,9 million. Award from the Paris Court of Arbitration dated July 18, 2005 At the end of the 2002 MotoGP season Altadis and Alex Barros signed a two year contract for the duration of the 2003 and 2004 MotoGP seasons.

I read that report a couple of days ago and my initial response was the same, ouch. I knew there was some red tape about getting Barros back from Yamaha but the way I understood it Barros or Repsol Honda had bought out his contract with Altadis. You would think he would have had more common sense than to simply leave a contract.
