funny thing is im thinking scott too. jt is good and a top 5 regally in his rookie year and not on a factory bike thats on michilin. i just dont see him being much better even on a factory ride with stones. dunno why, but hope im wrong.

no yank champs again for many years i reckon.

I sort of agree with you Rog....JT is obviously good enough to be on the grid and winning WBSK twice is no mean feat either, but for some reason, I don't see him making the next step up to challenging the top boys ( even if he got a factory ride and B'Stones ).
It's his rookie season and he ain't done too bad really.

Scott looks to have that bit of something special that makes all the difference. Looking at Redding and what he has achieved so far this year, its pretty easy to envisage him becoming a world champ. I just can't say the same about JT....but I hope he does

James is too ....... old to win a MotoGP title. If he was his age and had already 5-6 seasons under his belt, it would be another question, but he is 27-28 and only a rookie. He should win some races, but a title? Nope.

I compare him to a bit more talented Colin Edwards. Came over in their late 20's after kicking ... in WSBK, but had and will have some trouble being a top tier rider in MotoGP. Their struggles is a not because of a lack of abilities on the bike, but more that years on a production based bike is very different that a MotoGP machine. They have to change their riding styles and at their age, they have a habit and it will be hard to change.

povol gillim needs a couple of years before he can go to the 125 world championship. riders can be no younger than 15.

well i think scott redding will probably be the best chance that britainnia has of another gp championship wether it be 125s, 250s or motogp class. i agree that toseland is a future race winner but i think the gp crown is a bit out of reach for him. i could be wrong but i don't think i am. bradley smith will become more competitive but he is another one thats just missing that little something. you also have mathew hoyle in the rookies cup who could end up doing something.
now the americans have nh going to the factory ducati team next season & if he can tame the beast i think he'll have another chance for the title so theres a good possibility that america will get a championship within the next couple of seasons. now we also have quite a few young up & coming young talents as well. stevie bonsey, j.d. beach, hayden gillim, p.j. jacobsen all of which would, if they make it that far, would end up racing redding, hoyle even smith. so i think unless hayden captures the title that it difficult to say with any certainty. rite now tho i think redding out of all the up & commers has been the most impressive. can't wait to see him on the factory bike next season!
oh yeah & i think that ben spies, although a top rider, would not be able to win the 800 championship simply because he'll never get a factory ride, if he ever gets a ride at all.
