3 grid spot penalty for Marquez Austin

Maverick was on a pole lap, Marquez blocked him blatantly. Marquez got lucky it wasn't another penalty point because that would have put him at the back of the grid as he would have 4 penalty points on his license.

So once again Dorna/FIM give their love child another break and just give him 3 grid spot penalty, what a joke!

Anyone else notice the MotoGP video pass intro sequence "last time out" they showed Marquez stalling on grid but edited out the stewards pointing him OFF the track and him going in the wrong direction on the grid ... he just magically re-appeared in his grid spot. Too fuuny, the Marquez BIAS is so thick.

And what's with the commentators, talk about gushing Marquez, get a room, it was sick ... even when Marquez crashed in Qualifing they were still gushing over him on how great he is ... huh? He's crashing?? They weren't praising any other rider that crashed sooo ...

DORNA/FIM = FIFA ... the corruption is so obvious ... maybe it's time to get the FBI involved again?

Cheers, Rob.

I think he's really upset. "Butthurt" as some have expressed it.

I dont know about you guys but I dont want to see someone so upset. So I'm gonna just start blindly loving rossi from this moment on!

One slight flaw with your level headed non-bias point

The points system was scrapped after the debacle of 2015 and the outcry from certain sectors of the fan community (as well as from within the paddock)

Perhaps he would have got penalty points of it was kart racing, so it is the same thing.

Serious question though Jums.

As a person who does believe in the orchastration and manipulation ............ is it a fair question to wonder if the 3 places is co-incidental?

I honestly don't think it's that cut and dried, mate. Marc didn't deliberately block Mav' to stop him getting pole. He, (Marc), by his own admission, had his head up his hoop thinking about Ianonne. There was no malice or ill intent and he has been punished for it.
Mav' would not have ended up on pole anyway, Marc's subsequent lap was too fast for anyone else, so the 'pole lap' argument for Mav' is rendered a moot point.

I think the video to which you refer isn't so much of a cover up job to favour Marc, it's more to do with the whole start of Argentina being an inconsistent debacle. Also the highlight clips are supposed to concentrate on the racing and are subject to time restrictions, so, by their very nature can only linger so long on certain points.
Argentina is done and dusted, Marc messed up, was punished and from a points perspective, was effectively disqualified. What more do you want? Would you prefer that the Yakuza take over and have Marc cut off a braking finger as a sign of respect? I am not being facetious, just merely trying to highlight that in terms of championship impact, Marc was punished adequately. Yes, I realise that effectively Vale had the same and that is unfortunate, but like I said, Marc has been punished for it and you have 'an eye for an eye.'

As for crashing in qualifying, yes, Marc crashes and I don't want to sound like an apologist, but I assure you that there is a direct correlation between his crashing and his out and out speed.
The bottom line is that Marc rides so close to the edge (and sometimes beyond it) that crashing is an inevitable price to pay. The benefits however out weigh the risks, as is evident by his championship record.
As to why the other riders don't go as close to the edge as Marc is another story, I would not be so disrespectful to even suggest a reason.

I'm not a confrontational person by nature, Rob, but your final paragraph referencing FIFA and the FBI is farcical.

I'll ignore the rest of your farcical post which has been rightly summarily demolished. The commentary I heard was simply acknowledging Márquez's dogged refusal to accept that he had crashed and gallant attempts to save it by clinging on to the motorcycle. We've seen it lauded many, many times before - riders stubbornly and defiantly trying to subvert the laws of physics through will and physical determination. Slight and Bayliss immediately spring to mind and perhaps you should take a look at Mick at the Island in '97.

As a Rossi aficionado you are seriously, seriously not only expressing indignation that commentators are "gushing" over another rider, but that the series may be rigged in his favour???

Robains...chosen specialist subject - unintentional irony.

In your own words, "get a room" - whatever that means.

Ironic you're complaining about the penalty points system when it was clearly scrapped to make sure that Rossi couldn't collect any more penalty points on his license in the 12 month span and be punished again.

Yes, how biased do the commentators have to be impressed with a guy with 4/6 titles, including 4 of the last 5 premier class titles, who was 4 seconds a lap faster than the only guy with more titles in the field in the most recent previous race?. He has also made something of a habit of exploring the limits in practice to the point of sometimes crashing to achieve his race pace.

Just as well VR didn't do anything to deserve one then.
