People used to say - not saying I agree with them - that Marc liked a bike that was difficult to ride but fast so that his team-mates couldn't compete. An easy to ride bike might, repeat 'might', help Bagnaia on balance.
I think it was more he didn’t want to compromise on speed for a bike that was easier to ride. I’m not sure he was ever worried about competition but he did say that if he liked a part and his teammate didn’t it was an extra bonus and he would push for that part.People used to say - not saying I agree with them - that Marc liked a bike that was difficult to ride but fast so that his team-mates couldn't compete. If I remember correctly, he said that if Pedrosa liked a part, and it didn't make much difference to him, he would tell the team that he did not like it.he did say that if he liked a part and his teammate didn’t it was an extra bonus and he would push for that part.
I didn't, they were never anywhere near each other on track, except for last FridayPedro Acosta has reclaimed #37. Minor point, but I found #31 stylised a bit to look like #37 versus a #37 team-mate to be confusing.
EDIT: Listening back to earlier testing, that's a lot of GP24s at the track.
For me it was when they cut to a TECH3 rider crashing. It could be either of them. Last Friday was a bonus day when both crashed together and it was immediately obvious. Bonus only in that respect.I didn't, they were never anywhere near each other on track, except for last Friday![]()
He'll be back!Martin just crashed, lowside at T5
