It's only FP1, but Hondas are doing well. Let's see what happens in FP2. No surprises who is out front, but it's unusual for Bagnaia to be leading FP1, I think

EDIT: Oh, FP2 has already been. Binder fastest? I certainly didn't expect that. And with Acosta in 4th, things are looking good for KTM.

No Hondas in the top 10.

So far (emphasises 'so far'), it doesn't look like the Ducati GP24 has an advantage over the GP23 here, in these conditions. We'll find out more. Bagnaia in 7th? I didn't expect him to drop back that far.

I’ll be up for 2nd practice as I think it’s a good pointer on who’s hot. Would like to watch qualifying but a it’s long wait for sprint race so guess I’ll just do the sprint and the big one.
Edit. Or it can be misleading bollocks like when Binder is fastest.🤷🏻‍♂️

Not so surprising to see KTM in front, regarding to last year's performances during qualifying or sprint race. Like always, it would be more difficult for them on Sunday. Banania seems to already have a strong pace maybe a bit better than Martin.

Yeh no Honda's or Yamaha's in the top 10, home country race doesn't seem to be helping them. Taka is in the lead for the Japanese cup.

Ah it must hurt to miss the top ten by 0.030

All else being equal, the rider in 11th place should have a reasonable crack of getting through to Q2. I'm aware that it's quite common for that not to happen.

This is looking for a step backwards for the Japanese teams. I think there has been someone (usually FQ) going straight into Q2 for a number of races now.

In this case the 11th rider was Miller who was sitting in the pitts after crashing watching his top 10 possie erode away

Miller hasn't done that well at getting thru Q1 lately, we shall see tomorrow

One lap pace is what he always had for most of his career but that seems to have deserted him as well.
