I am intrigued by how this carries into Moto 2 for him.
I want to temper my expectations, as the norm is that Moto3 dominations don’t translate well to the bigger bikes; Acosta being the exception.

That said, I’ve seen pictures of Alonso training with a CBR600RR, so maybe he’s working towards that already.

Acosta took a fair chunk of his 1st year to learn Moto2. Nothing wrong if Alonso doesn't dominate his first year. Marc Marquez didn't win his first year of Moto2 - though perhaps he could have.

I'd love to know what sort of times he is putting out on the 600RR...though I am not sure even if we knew it would provide much insight without seeing what others are doing on the same track with the same bike.

Does make me wish I knew what happened to the onboard video I saw sometime ago of I believe Nicolo Canepa riding a R1 on the same track as Marc Marquez riding a 600RR. This was when Marc was still riding the Honda in GP. But while the R1 obviously pulled away in a straight line, watching Marc completely close up the gap under braking was absolutely breathtaking to watch. Showed off how fast a 600 is in the hands of a rider of that caliber even when faced with trying to catch a liter bike.

He was on the track with the brothers Marquez, so I’m assuming he wasn’t there to make up the numbers…

I don't know how these guys handle the heat of racing in Indonesia. I feel hot just looking at the circuit.

I had to give up riding motorcycles due to body temperature dysregulation problems, so I'm somewhat envious of watching these guys out there in the burning sun with no such issues lol.
