I've never been a big fan of races at Silverstone. Always thought of it as a parking lot with chicanes. Too flat. IMHO the lack of elevation changes always makes for indifferent racing, with bikes.
Fabs was great, no surprise there.
Schmarquez rode like a 16 year old. Really disappointing. No doubt he wanted to get to front and run away before Fabio could warm up his tires. What a schmuck.
Rins had good racecraft on the day.
Good for Espargaro and Aprilia. Loved watching him dice with Miller in that last lap, tho his passing him again in that nice tight line, was pretty much a given, as even after all this time, the Ducati still can't turn.
Pol while not on the podium, looked as in-control of the Honda as anyone not named Marqez, has done in ages. He rode the bike pretty damned smooth, not making crazy shapes that Marquez needs to win.
Re: Michelin street tires, I respectfully disagree. I have three bikes and go through tires on a regular basis and have tried all the better known sticky rubber and don't find the Michelin to be drastically better or worse than the competitors. I like the Power Pilots; sticky enough and very predicable.
