2021 Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello

Agreed mate. I really want a dry race to see how Marquez stands up to the hi loading on his arm.

I think I'm definitely in the minority opinion here but I think Marc is going to have a good result if it's dry. Perhaps not podium but top 5 or 6.

I am not a fan of Marc but I am a fan of his skills as a rider. I also hate seeing any rider going through what he has had to go through. I also think he is going to surprise people before the end of the season. I would not be surprised if he landed a top 6 this weekend.

I am not a Marc fan either but nor am I a hater. Like you, I respect his talent and skills but he was so dominant it had me rooting for anybody to give him a run for his money. Those races where Dovi took him on the final corner were incredible but Dovi is always the bridesmaid. I hope he comes back too.

I think that is what is missing at the moment. There has always been heroes and villains but at the moment they are all nice guys Ha! Ha! Thats why I like Zarco. He is a bit of a rebel. Most people wrote him off but he knew better.

Ha! Ha! Nice one mate. Just a quick question. How do you post a picture? When you click on it it asks for the web address?

Best method is to upload the image to a photo hosting site like PhotoBucket or Flickr and use the link from their site which you can just past with your text. I think it might be easier for PC users. On a Mac you have to fiddle around about deleting extra link text to get a clean paste.

Pecco is due for a good result. Plus, he’s Italian and at this track determined Italians have been known to win. Not sure that statement’s worth anything, just chatter ahead of the race! There are also plenty of Spaniards determined to not let an Italian win here so we’ll see.

I hope the sun shines in any event. I wonder if they are letting people in this year? Great atmosphere here when that’s the case.

I check every week or so to see if Donna is selling tickets. So far, no deal. Would have loved to go to Mugello this year. Mayhaps- I’ll end up settling for Austin. I had VIP passes two years ago and got sick the week before and missed it. If Marquez continues to improve, it’d be a treat to see him there as he loves Austin.

I had tickets to Mugello in 2020. Maybe they will still be good in 2022?

Are they coming to Austin or is it still up in the air? The MotoGP calenar has it as "PPD" but I didn't see a revised date.

There is still a long way to go but an outstanding performance so far from Franco Morbidelli. On a 2 year old machine that is 6kph slower on the straight than the next slowest machine and 20kph down on the fastest machines and he still came 2nd in FP2. I have been a Rossi fan since he first started in 125cc but he should quit now. Yamaha will regret, if they are not already, giving the factory machine to Rossi. Now that VR46 looks set to use Ducati machines next year there is no longer any reason to keep Rossi on. They should say, after this weekend, either quit are we replace you at Petronas. Somebody need to put him out of his misery.
Bagnia is looking very good.

He's like Tiger Woods, well past his prime but all the commentators want to talk about.

At least Tigers not taking up a valuable spot.

One of my favorite racing quotes is one from Senna, when asked about his teammate Prost’s performance: “the results speak for themselves.”

This is what I think of now while looking at the consistency and downwards trajectory of Rossi’s results.

The great Senna. With Rossi, I am really saddened by what is happening. I have spent many hours in front of the tv and at the race track jumping up and down with excitement at his successes. Even if he cant see it himself I would have hoped that those closest to him would have dissuaded him from racing this season. When the difference between winning and coming 15th is only a couple of tenths a lap I can see how it would be easy for a rider to to believe that they can still do it. If he finishes lower than 10th it will be hard for him to ignore. This will be the first time I will be wanting him to finish last.

FP3 should be quite interesting but they really need to do something about all these riders sitting up waiting for a tow. Fabio got screwed out of a possible P1.

Yea, watching Rossi is painful anymore. Frankie will hopefully have that seat next year.

Not sure how many factory bikes Yamaha can/wants to run. It seems it only makes sense to have a third one if there’s a good Tshirt salesman sitting on it.

Or a genuine hot prospect like Fabio was, who had that seat last.

Not sure Morbidelli is all that .

As always, there’s more talent than there are factory bikes.

Totally agree that a factory bike is wasted with VR’s current performance level.

It's my understanding Petronas got the bikes they asked and paid for. Factory spec and the "A" spec. Yamaha was willing to give them another factory spec bike but Petronas did not ask for it. Again, my understanding of the situation from things I've read.

Got it. So if that's the case, it has to have come down to money, with Petronas being unwilling to foot the bill for another factory spec bike.

True but I've also heard Petronas/SRT wanted to keep the "A" spec bike to use as a base to compare and set up the new bike. I think the 'A' spec bike's chassis was preferred, if I'm not mistaken.

I'm looking for a good battle on Sunday between Bagnaia and Quatararo. Zarco and/or Miller could be in the mix and maybe even a KTM. Binder and Olivera came on in FP2.

Dunno. Not sure what PPD means. Purified Protein Derivative?
