Ancient Aliens: The Pathways of LeMans
NARRATOR: On the northwest coast of France, just south of Brittany, lies ones of the most important prehistoric sites in Europe. At the seaside village of Carnac over 3000 megalithic stones are placed in rows over 2 miles long. 300 kilometers to the East, along the shores of the Sarthe river, lies another important site. In what is now known as the city of Le Mans, bare stone and gravel have been placed in strange, looping patterns on the hilly terrain. Today, people from all over the world travel to Le Mans
to retrace these pathways using modern transportation; but legend tells of strange mechanical devices capable of traveling at speeds far in excess of what we are capable of. Could these strange markings, as many locals believe, be signs of moto-historic extraterrestrial activity? Ancient astronaut theorists say, "Yes!"
GEORGIO TSOUKALOS: When you decipher the sacred moto-scriptures of the region, you learn that the past winners at Le Mans were considered to be near deities. As far back as 2008 Valentino Rossi won here, Stoner won in 2011 and Pedrosa won in 2013. Jorge Lorenzo has won 5 times since then, Marquez twice and Vinales won once. In fact, in recorded history nobody has been able to match the speed at which Vinales is said to have lapped the circuit. Using the chariot of the gods, he was supposed to have been capable of a lap time that modern scientific calculations estimate at 1'32.309. That's a feat not readily attainable with the technology that you and I can just buy in a store, despite the advanced technology in a modern sportbike. So obviously, these wielders of godlike chariots must be aliens!
NARRATOR: 439 kms to the South, in the remote village of Glozel, lies the remnants of what archaeologists have dubbed "France's mini-Pompeii." First discovered by a pair of farmers and dismissed by the contemporary academics during the find in 1924, artifacts found buried in tombs at Glozel were later confirmed to be from the Neolithic period. Among those artifacts, more than one hundred stone tablets in a previously unknown dialect. While not conclusive, attempts to decipher them point to a violent conflict among godlike beings. Could these tablets hold the key to legends of an ancient war among alien factions that take place in secret in France? Ancient astronaut theorists say, "Yes."
DAVID CHILDRESS: If you look at the tablets that were found in Glozel, there are clear similarities with the ancient Phoenician alphabet, and we've been able to make a partial translation. The most surprising find was the mention of the name Qartararo. Interestingly that name doesn't appear in any texts before this period in history, so it's clear that this was a once mortal man who is being elevated to be one with the Gods. We have learned that he faced great trials in the dunes of Jereth, far from his home. He was ultimately defeated, but most importantly he survived and returned home. This is definitely a story about a normal person like you and me who was abducted and taken up to be with the aliens, but something went tragically wrong. Once the rest of the texts have been decoded we'll know the full story....
GEORGIO TSOUKALOS: The "myth" of Quatararo isn't a myth, it was real story of an attempted abduction. Ancient man at the time lacked the language, the tools, to adequately describe the complex machinery that was ultimately his undoing in Jereth. However the texts clearly show that, even though he was in a strange and foreign land, he proved himself to the aliens that he deserved to be among them. I'm sure that as we decode more of these ancient writings we will come to learn that he "ascended to be one with the gods". This will clearly mean that he underwent some form of genetic manipulation that infused him with alien DNA so that he could live in their world.

What I do like about it is it doesn't seem to fancy any particular bike. Last year's top four were:
Marquez
Petrucci
Rossi
Miller
So not overwhelmingly any one make.

Dovi doesn't have a fabulous rapport with this track - so being a big supporter - I'm not all that chuffed about this race, tho I do like that Ducati, whose arc seems still on the rise, seems to run well enough here.

Dovi doesn't have a fabulous rapport with this track - so being a big supporter - I'm not all that chuffed about this race, tho I do like that Ducati, whose arc seems still on the rise, seems to run well enough here.

I think and hope it'll be a Marquez/Dovi show, with Rins following. I predict Rossi and MV in the top 5 but not podium contenders.
Would love to see Quartararo doing well tho, especially in his home race, so I kinda wouldn't mind being wrong (except on ma man Dovi

It'll be a test of character to see if he doesn't try to win the race in the first three laps, which seems too often to be the predictable norm with talented rookies on MGP bikes first time at their home track. I'd like to see him do well for a lot of reasons, not the least of which; I just like saying Quatarraro.

Can't find anything on the MotoGP site. But yes very sad.

That's why I don't use Twatter or any other social crap.
I find it more reliable than most news sources these days which is quite sad.
