Unless he thinks he can improve the wrist with a year off, I can't imagine why he thinks time off would improve his chances of securing a proper SBK ride. Honda needs to pull a Yamaha in SBK. They need to leave the series, come up with a new machine and re-enter.
Honda is a joke in SBK. How much money would a Honda CBR ride in SBK pay? It has to be relatively paltry. Nicky should retire before accepting that bike.

He'd be better off asking Honda if they want him to be their MotoGP test rider, given that Casey and Honda have fallen out of love it seems.
