2017 Teams - Question for Krops

I asked this on another thread but guessed you missed it. Rumours are that Aspar will be running Ducati's in 2016 (GP14.1's?). However, we also know that rules for 2017 are such that any manufacturer can supply a maximum of 4 bikes to satellite teams. If the deal above goes ahead, Ducati will field 6 satellite bikes so how is that going to work in 2017?

HONDA (3)
Marc VDS - Honda x 2 (If they run Miller)
LCR - Honda x 1

Yamaha (?)
Tech 3 - Yamaha x 2
Forward?

Ducati (4)
Pramac x 2
Avintia x 2

Suzuki (?)

Aprilia (?)

KTM (?)

Any news on teams in disussions with manufacturers for 2017?

No news. Too early. Forward might be back in 2016, god knows what Aspar will be doing (if he isn't in jail, that is) and there is IODA, AB Racing and more.

Forward have missed the cutoff for Yamaha's next year haven't they? Maybe they'll chase Suzuki!

Faaaak, if Forward get Ducati's too that's 10 on the grid for next year! Also then MotoGP will begin to look like WSBK circa 2002-2006 - i.e. the Ducati cup.

Presumably only for 2016 then? Unless another team (Avintia, Pramac or possibly Forward) drop them.

Ducati cannot offer more than 8 seats -- which would be 16 bikes to be provided for, quite a lot.

That's my point Jarno. For 2017 the rules state that factories can supply a maximum of 4 'satellite' bikes. As it stands, Ducati for 2016 could be leasing out 8 (Pramac, Avintia, Aspar and Forward) and WILL have to halve that in 2017. Pramac sure as hell will be keeping Ducati's, so the other 3 will be fighting it out for the remaining pair.

On the right...

Well, as long as it's not a POS311V he'll do alright.

The rider style, technique, dedication, bravery, pedigree etc etc is immaterial so long as you have the best bike. Afterall, Nick only became a World Champion in 2006 purely 'because of the RCV'.

Forward won't be on the grid. Looks like Carmelo don't want to give them MotoGP slots for fear of bringing the championship into disrepute. Apparently, having them race in Moto2 doesn't bring the championship into disrepute, so I am slightly confused as to how that works.
