2014: Weak rider market, + Hayden and Ducati

I was looking at the stats and It seems that everytime a rider from Gp or wsbk runs the suzuka they win if they dont break.

Kyonari cant break top 10 in wsbk yet I believe hes won it a few times.

I dont know who this Johnny Rea is.

There racing against japs who are club racers at best. Everyone knows japs can build bikes but cant ride them.

I think it must be very hard for them to focus at that speed, since their eyes are half closed all the time

It depends on the angle that their eyes are slanted at. In the old days of racing with 30 degree lean angles on the bike they were deadly on the track because their vision was focused perfectly at that angle. But modern bikes can do 60 degree angles while maintaining grip to the track and riders with 60 degree slant to their eyes are very hard to find. Hope this explains well enough.

Can someone please tell me what the eff has Johnathon Rea accomplished in his career?

Thought so.

Well he did win the eight hour last year for HRC which is never a bad thing to have on your CV. Would have done the same this year  were it not for your man Kiyonari crashing out of the lead shortly after taking over for the third leg of the race.

"Third leg"

I know you've probably tried to be funny here, but it's a total fail in my opinion...

don't be so hard on him. i think johnny's slowly getting back in shape, might come good by the end of year awards.keep trying.

Motochick makes a pretty solid point. After all, Schwantzs team got 3rd this year. Hes a 50 year old guy that doesnt race regularly but was able to beat most of the field.

Rossi won it and he has little experience on Superbikes. Outside of Kiyonari the rest of the guys that have won it in recent years are hardly recognizable names. I dont know where Kiyonari is right now but his brief stint in WSBK was a failure

Kiyo is in brit supers at the mo.

Many are either unaware or overlook the fact that following the tragic passing of Daijiro Kato in 2003 he inherited Gibernau's seat at Gresini for the rest of the season. Like Rea he has won the 8 hour, unlike Rea he had Japanese National Championships to his name when he was hurriedly ushered into Moto GP by HRC.

He also has two BSB titles to Rea's none, (although Johnny was runner up to him in '07). Kiyo's Michelin shod Blade in comparison was pretty much a full factory effort though.

not too long ago he could take it to the top bsb guys constantly

..When Josh Brookes wasn't trying to mount him over the mountain

that is one seriously amazing pic arrab, thanks for sharing!

sorry for off topic, but is brookes way of tackling the mountain actually the fastest or is it just as fast and a crowd pleaser? in the couple of cadwell races i've seen it seemed like only him and rea would really get air there lap after lap.wonder if thats cause the other top riders can't or don't want to do the same

I think it is fast but not recommended because it is a bit hard on the bike. Well maybe really hard on the bike.

I would simply offer this as a caveat...

One of the nastiest leg breakages I've seen on TV since Lawrence Taylors infamous sack on Joe Theismann.
