well anahiem 1 is just a couple of weeks away so lets get started... who u pickin for the champ this year? if all stay healthy it's gonna be a tough season but i think i'm gonna go with dungey just squeakin out the repeat.

cool....frost starts the thread.

Champion this year....Villopoto, dude looks great and sounds motivated.

I want Dungey, Villopoto, and Stewart to all stay healthy and battle it out.

Still going to be tough this year watching my boy Stroupe ride mid-pack at best on 2nd tier team and I don't even think he will be at the first couple of races as he's still rehabbing from last year's SX crash.

I can't wait. Only 2 more weeks. I just hope everyone can stay healthy so there are no more Dungey errrrrrrr gifted championships.

Dungey is full of confidence and has the momentum.

Stewart is back and healthy, but is he focused enough?

Reed is healthy and should be a factor

Villo looks to be on a mission.

Let's not forget Trey Christnard. He certainly made a lot of noise as wildcard and should be in the mix as well.

Chad Reed will be the 2011 Champ...

If, Bubba crashes

If, Dungey crashes

If, Villopoto crashes

If, Canard crashes

anyone think it odd that christoph pourcel has no ride?
<
i would add him to the list of potential race winners in the big class but he dose'nt seem to have a ride.... how can this be?

Can't find anything later than November for Christophe....see below. His 2011 season isn't looking too bright at the moment.

“I’ve read and heard many of the things that have been said about me and my pursuit of a ride for 2011 and nothing I’ve seen has accurately portrayed the situation. I prefer to conduct my business dealings in private but feel this situation needs to be addressed publicly to combat the misinformation that is out there. The only thing that I have asked for or have sought, has been something that would provide me with a program that is comparable to the way that that my competitive set of riders are being compensated and supported. I am not “holding out” for a specific amount of compensation as has been stated by a certain corporate spokesperson, but I have sought and continue to work toward a deal that allows me to have the resources I need to be competitive and to plan for my future after racing. I understand that times are hard for everyone and economic realities apply to me too, but I have to have access to the same type of resources that my competition have in order to be competitive with them. I’ve invested the results of my success so far in the United States back into the United States and hope to be able to continue to race there and enjoy the way of life there, in what I consider my second home country. We are currently working on options that would allow me to do that and hope to have some news soon. I’m working hard so that I can continue to compete in the sport that I love and has been the passion of my life for as long as I can remember. I can’t thank the people who believe in me enough, and their continued support will get me through this challenging time.”

Wow. Well it seems nobody is willing to pay him what he wants and the top teams r all wrapped up. Hes good enuf to run with the big boys, but hes def holding out.

7 more days and counting

No ride for froggie. That's a shame.

What about Weimer? Is he Villo's teammate this yr?

What about Weimer?

The 2011 Supercross season is still 10 days from the opening race in Anaheim, but it claimed it's first victim today. The 2010 West Supercross Lites Champion, Jake Weimer, broke his arm while practicing for the opener. He will undergo surgery later today to repair the break. No timetable has been established for his return and discussions on a replacement rider have yet to be held. Stay tuned to Supercross.com for the latest information on Weimer's injury and all other Supercross news. supercross.com

Man, only a couple more days to go.

Reading around, seems more than a few folks are picking Canard to be the new Dungey....a bit far fetched IMO. I mean Canard is fast, but can he keep rubber side down a whole race or season?

Adding Canard into the mix with Stewart, Dungey, Villopoto, and Reed sounds great, but I just don't know.

Could there be someone else that throws down in the first round that no one expected?

Sorry guys, I know I keep blowing up this thread, but found this today. It's pretty much saying the same thing I put in the RV thread and the reason why I tipped RV to win the 2011 SX championship.

Well if you're right, then JKnock is sure to soil himself.

Chad Reed is a non issue unless the top two guys cash, which is always a possibility.

Bubba is gonna try to impress, and when he does that, it means a crash.

I think Villopotos big threat will come from Dungey. The dude is solid. Yes, not having Coster is a big question mark. But I think we didn't see a flash in the pan. Of course I say this with just days from the first SX. All very exciting!

I think we will also see Canard come through as a regular podium finisher. I'm actually rooting for him. We all need a little Jesus in our lives.

.

What makes you believe Reed won't be a factor? From what I recall the 2 rounds he raced last year he was still faster than everyone but Stewart.

I know he's running his own team but I assumed he would still be getting the unobtanium the other factory guys are getting.

Yes, but he's soft. And the "young" guns are more hungry and are improving and gaining experience. You wanna make a bet? You take Reed and I'll take Villopoto and Dungey. Reed's only claim to fame is having the fortune of staying upright while the other faster riders crashed. So here is what I propose. We will count only races that neither of the three crash. For every race Reed beats them both, I owe you a dollar. For every race either Villo or Dungey beats Reed, you owe me a dollar. For every race Canard beats all three, we send a local Christian church a dollar. We'll send the tally at season end. Bet?
<

Btw, a few issues have conspired and I won't be able to make the season opener. And we got some decent weather for the show too. Err. Stupid Nanny, she's getting married. What a total .....!

You want me to bet against my boy????

Hell no but ill take that bet against dungey and jesus

Well Villo is probably the best raw talent and contender against Reed, so that's why I need him to even out the bet. Ok, how about this, we make it 50 cents for Christnard (tho I think may surprise us btw; never under estimate the power of prayer my friend). When Villow beats all three (Reed, Canard, Dungey), we send a dollar to local Christian Church, in Canard's name of course.

So recap, while straight up racing, barring any crashes from either riders, when Reed beats both Canard & Dungey, I owe you 50 cents US. When either Canard or Dungey beat Reed you owe me $1.00 US. When Villow beats all three, we both send a dollar to a local Christian church, tis the price of having to root for Reed to beat Canard, as this is probably a sin. Bet?

Hmm....sounds like some good action there.

You wanna get in on this?
