I'm going with Dovizioso!

Dovi will be good, but this year still Pedrosa will be the title contender from the Puig Garage.
The dark horses: Hayden and Gibernau in my opinion. Kallio was surprisingly good on the tests with the Duke and he is a brave rookie so I expect some flashes from him also.

Well that's no fun! How can we laugh at our own misguided predictions then?

I'm going with either Toesland or Collie. I think the satellite Yamahas are going to be quick!

Dark Horse for the title...
- Toseland

and for wins...
- Elias
- Gibernau

And the odds as of Jan 12, 2009
Valentino Rossi evens
Casey Stoner 9/4
Dani Pedrosa 6/1
Jorge Lorenzo 7/1
Andrea Dovizioso 14/1
Nicky Hayden 20/1
Colin Edwards 80/1
Chris Vermeulen 80/1
James Toseland 80/1
Alex De Angelis 125/1
Toni Elias 125/1
Loris Capirossi 150/1
Mika Kallio 150/1
Niccolo Canepa 200/1
Randy De Puniet 250/1
Yuki Takahashi 250/1
Sete Gibernau 250/1

So according these odds the Dark Horse will be anyone from Colin down to Gibernau

Chris Vermeulen 80:1
Loris Capirossi 150:1
Thats a bit harsh on Loris ??

They are SUCKzuki afterall.....so I think 80:1 for Chris is heavily optimistic.

What odds was casey stoner before the 2007 season?

I always think very short odds in a bike racing championship for anyone no matter how great are not realistic given the ever present risk of injury, particularly when this can be caused by the mistakes of others outside any given rider's control. Vale has never had an accident with prolonged serious consequences, his great skills no doubt being a significant factor, but even he has had accidents which could have led to such consequences.

Hayden will be awesome this season. He's on a bike that will suit him better than the Honda. Following the British i would love to see Toseland win it, But u can never write off Valentino.

Rossi ftw..but i hope we have some fighting and close racing...but if Nick beats up on Pedro i'll be happy

i hope hayden but theres still a big ? hangin over his ability to get on with the duc... fingers crossed. then i'd say dovi. i think the main contenders will be the same as last. rossi, stoner. lorenzo & puigdrosa.

Yea i really hope he aint just a one season wonder. I have followed him all thw way through AMA and it would be good to see Hayden win 1 more title in moto gp then move across to World Superbikes on the factory Honda.
