2007 Predictions

QUOTE (Tom @ Feb 12 2007, 01:14 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I rate Luthi very highly too, i think he is better than Kallio for example, but of other 125 guys comming up, is he better than Bautista, it'll be tough for rookie of the year won't it.

luthi! i dont know what happened to him this year:( better than kalio?! if luthi was better than bautista then why was he never battling with him at the top, excluding his 1 win, but one win for the reigning world champ(at the time) isnt that good is it?!

Oh no doubt lutthi had a bad time in 2006, he got injured and was not riding at his best. But it is worth pointing out that last years Honda was crap, nobody else won a race with one did they?

i know a lot of the fast guys were not there, but Julian Simon did extremely well to top both days of the recent 250cc test. He beat his team mate S.Aoyama, who really NEEDS to win a race this year and was also faster than Dovi (but he is ill at the moment). Still, good start.

More importantly, the two spanish aspar riders were only marginally faster than Bradley Smith, looks like hes getting that hang of it. If he can finish above the other honda riders as much as poosible things will look very good for him.

250cc
Bautista has been strong through tests and pulled out a big gap in the official testing so i'm going to go with him to be World Champion this year, with A. De Angellis and J.Lorenzo in places 2nd and 3rd.

125cc
G.Talmacsi is looking strong so just by gut instinct i'm going to root him to be World Champion but I wouldn't be suprised if Hector Faubel had something to say about that and even Lucas Pesek.

I've changed my mind about my 250cc prediction. Sorry Hiro but KTM look like a junk this year.

1st Barberá
2nd Lorenzo
3rd De Angelis

250s will be very interesting.

So many good riders: Lorenzo, Dovizioso, Barbara, De Angelis and Bautista to name a few.

Prediction:
1. Lorenzo
2. Dovizioso
3. Bautista

Its foolish of you to predict Bautista winning over far more experienced rivals. He may be in with a title shot at the end of the year. But he is a rookie, and rookies don't just win titles all the time. I think there are 5 guys who can realisticaly be in with a shot of the 250cc crown, but way more who can win races.

Anyone see the Bradly Smith was top of the time sheets this past weekend....Amazing what happens when you get a bike that actually accelerates. I don't think he can win it but a top 5 finish for the year would be awesome....

i think he might have a shot at it this season. it's an outside shot but i won't count him out.

i think that outside chance for brad is looking a little less like an outside chance! more like a good chance!!! go ginger bread bradly!
