#04: I am so happy to be wrong :)

No .... you forget the part that WSBK played in the post Doohan era.

It wasnt until Motogp bought both Edwards and Bayliss that they had attracted interest, and talent back to GP.

They were great superbike riders, I was rather sad they weren’t more successful in premier class GP bike racing. In regard to Bayliss, Ducati’s judgement in regard to and management of its gp riders has always tended towards the haphazard. I think Nicky could have gone close in the race I very much enjoyed seeing Bayliss win if he had needed the victory btw, and it is perhaps apocryphal but Bayliss is reputed to have asked to have his WSBK crew for that race, not being enamoured of the Ducati motogp team.

I have friends who idolise Rossi. I have one friend who actually has "46" tattoos. That's his choice. He's still my friend. And I am his, despite my "99" memorabilia and my attempted theft of the life size cardboard cutout of MM from the shop.

I ride, compete and judge at dressage and I know people who detest it and far prefer show jumping.

I really don't like marmite at all and my one attempt to like olives resulted in me walking round Tesco with a chewed up olive in my pocket for the rest of my shop. I have a friend who it seems is almost obsessed by olives.

I don't feel any need to try and piss anyone else of because they like different things. It's really weird.

I suspect that many of the football communities thrive on hatred of those who like something that's almost the same as they like but slightly different, like a different team.

When I actually go to GPs, I have beers with MM fans, JL fans and even one Karel Abraham fan once.

Good friend of mine, who is an MM fan had a baby and I got her an MM onesie as a gift (And told her I hope her daughter wises up when she’s older ;) ).

Only a bunch of old, bitter farts on an obscure forum go all “My dad is cooler than your dad “ about MotoGP. Winding them up is mucho fun though.

People when they actually meet up usually find they have more in common as bike racing fans than differences as fans of varying riders.

You couldn’t wind up a clock, btw.

There apparently are a few around Brno.
Or maybe they are his manservants. I have no clue.

Well, actually, I guess if you are Czech and like MotoGP, you do not have too many riders that carry your flag to choose from...

It wasnt until Motogp bought both Edwards and Bayliss that they had attracted interest, and talent back to GP. In short, GP was populated by riders who were not representative of the world best for some years. Which was why Hayden was imported at Hondas behest.

So?

It’s fun watching fat Jong hijababy diddler go into the deep end.
I must be REEEALLLLY getting under your skin this time.

You on the other hand are not capable of anything other than extremely simple sentences, and can't make an argument to save yourself, I love Rossi not actually being an argument I fear to inform you, and you dismay or make squirm absolutely no-one. It is vaguely possible that posters on here realise that Rossi is a popular rider without being informed of this by you.

I absolutely expect Rossi to be trying to win as many races as he can and the title if he can in 2018 just as hard as he did in 2005, and commend him for doing so and for still being as close to doing so as he is.

I was going for Lorenzo in 2015, but would have been happy to credit Rossi for winning the title if things had continued as they had for the majority of that season, and the title would have been well deserved and particularly creditable, like Ago’s 8th and last title on the Yamaha.

Just as it was not his problem if Dani was out injured or recovering from injury for a large part of the season on 1 of the 4 bikes with a winning chance, that MM kept throwing another such bike down the road, or that Lorenzo couldn’t ride the the 3rd of those 4 bikes in wet or damp conditions, nor imo was there any obligation for Dani to continue to be uncompetitive, MM to continue to throw his bike down the road, or for a high proportion of the races to continue to be damp. He needed to maintain his lead over Lorenzo with all comers trying as hard as they could to beat him, just as all comers were trying as hard as they could to beat Lorenzo while he gained his lead. This does not seem to have been his view of things, according to David Emmett among others.

New Rules: Announcers when mentioning his position in the course of a race, will now have to refer to him as
9-times-not-a-world-champion Valentino Rossi.

Trying to win is not the same as winning and even if his bike was working properly, trying just about sums it up, thats all he can do imo.

He can’t beat MM in virtually any circumstance other than a serious injury to MM, he has basically forged him into an implacable foe who will even settle for position now rather than take a risk that might give Valentino any semblance of a look in. It seems Valentino and Uccio are reduced to demonising MM as he continues to win titles. MM did not cheat Valentino out of a 10th title in 2015, as MM himself said Valentino needed to beat Lorenzo in the end of season races, not him. Beating Pedrosa in a number of races and Iannone in one would have helped as well.
