Everyone else's tickets come through this morning??

It's the simple things in life that seem to give you the most happiness. You can keep your 2 weeks abroad, race weekend is nearly here. Beer, bikes, rain and maybe a wee bit birthday cake for the wee one. I'm now like a kid on christmas morning all because the tickets arrived.
If anyone fancies sharing a beer or 10 I imagine we'll be kicking around becketts most of the weekend.

I'll be there. Ordered tickets last week together with Day of Champions on the Thursday.

You can get really close to the track for photos just before turn 10 at Maggots so I often wander past Becketts, although we did watch qualifying there a few years ago which affords a great view across the Southern part of the circuit. Love watching them exit Chapel and hammer up the Hangar Straight. Definitely up for an ale if you're around.

Saturday's I often perch high for a while in the stand at Club for QP3 or 4 because I maintain you get to see the shortcomings of set up at Vale which is unforgiving and a hard braking zone. Also a great vantage point to tip beer on all the clueless yellow glory hunters wandering in from the periphery merchandise stands because they've realised that there's a track in the middle.

Stood halfway down hangar for a while last year towards the end of qualifying.
Anyone who doesn't get a buzz from the close proximity to the track added to the speed and noise must be dead inside.

I can't believe that a better act than Rick Astley couldn't be found for this year's saturday "entertainment" though. If you want folk to stick around for a while maybe get someone more geared towards a biker crowd as opposed to desperate housewives.

Have you seen Rick dance.
I wouldnt miss that brillant rendition of the awkward, off beat, caucasian shuffle. The way he swings his arms and snaps his fingers out of time with the music is breathtaking.
But hey, to each his own. Not everyone is into train wrecks

Yeah should be there, I'd better have a word with The Godfather just to check on my passes, be cool to share an ale or ten, Mind I bring a tasty bit o Scappa for the odd wee nip too;)

Arrabb, have you got grandstand or just GA?
Be cool to see you again man, it's been too long, and I can introduce you to the missus.

Riders for Health were forced to wind up their UK operations in Northamptonshire but the programmes still exist in Africa. It was announced several weeks ago that the DOC was going ahead as usual on the Thursday following similar doubts over its continuation in the UK. A new branch of the charity has been established to stage the event.

Unfortunately and unsurprisingly...

'The Circuit of Wales website is currently offline due to technical difficulties. Please check back later.'

However...

IRTA confirm Silverstone Day of Champions will go ahead - Bikesport News

Will be going Thurs till Monday :) Lets see what the weather does this year.

I like watching @ Stowe during FP then pick somewhere else for Sat onwards!

Dunno just yet mate, I'm not bothering with a ticket this year so probably not.
I don't see the point in paying twice just so I can camp on woodlands and then have to walk twice if not three times the distance to and back from the track.
Litchlake is the future. I know Lyndon and Kev have already booked there.
Is Pyrocrutchlow going with you?
ps.

:wizard: You must go to the auction
:wizard: You must go to the auction
:wizard:You must buy more rossi tat:p
:wizard: YOU MUST ATTEND THE ATTEND THE AUCTION!!!:D

Arrived in Orlando for three weeks of getting dragged around theme parks by the missus and kids, so sadly I won't be attending silverstone this year.
At least I'll avoid the cold and wet weather [emoji1]

You flew out to the U.S. and all you intend to see is theme parks????!???

....!!! Hate to sound condescending, but it reminds me of Brits that visit EuroDisney and are utterly impervious to fact that the Palace of Versailles is under an hour away.

.... some tosser in a foam Donald Duck outfit. Once clear of immigration and unless it was San Francisco I used to be out of the City for the wilderness faster than a neutrino. Glorious continent away from the kitsch superficiality of Disney and Universal.

Next year spend your money on the High Sierra's - tell the wife and kids that Arrabb and Jumkie sent you.

Im always amazed at how many Brits can afford that trip. Im fairly local and a one day excursion to Disney is a $500 to $800 expenditure and thats with only 1 kid.
Those parks are packed to the gills with Brits. Thats got to be a 15 grand trip for the average family

Family of three could get to and stay in Yosemite for a fortnight for a third of that.

I dunno, it bewilders me, but there's some odd fixation with the theme park pilgrimage in the UK, the excuse invariably being, I did it for the kids. My instinct was to fire up a kids imagination in the wild and explore parts of the John Muir trail with my daughter..perhaps that makes me a bad parent?

Yamfan, next year come drop off your wifey at Disney Cali, tell her you'll be back in a week. Then we can head up highway 395 to Tahoe.

(Taken this week)

Granted, I was driving an RV, but still, living vicariously through these guys.
