Ducati team boss Livio Suppo says it's 99 percent certain that Marco Melandri will stay at the team at least until the US Grand Prix.
The Italian's future in the team is in doubt after a dismal season, in which he has been completely overshadowed by teammate Casey Stoner.
Melandri's position...
Seems that there's a real possibility Sete might take over Marco's ride as early as Sachsenring while Marco is said to possibly be going to ride Hopkins' bike.
Oh my oh my!
Here's the linky
All speculation so far I guess but would be interesting to see if Marco really has completely lost his nerve.
VISORDOWN BROUGHT you news last week that Marco Melandri's place in the Marlboro Ducati squad was under threat and that MotoGP veteran Sete Gibernau was set to replace the lacklustre Italian.
The likelihood of this happening is now almost a reality after Melandri's disastrous season with Ducati...
Just heard from the commentators, not as NEWS, but more as a comment as Melandri was in the picture. "His last race for Ducati, very sad......"!
Maybe I got it wrong but I logged in 5 min out in the session and
it was as if they had a big anouncment earlier in the broadcast.
ok it seems clear that Melandri won't be able to adapt to the Ducati bike. does anybody else here think that it would be a good move for him to Gresini? i think everybody would gain: Ducati could try to get a rider more suited to their bike, Melandri would return to a bike which worked much...

A long and thigh preseason period for Melandri. Seems that Marco may be follow Casey set-up"footprints" short term through ,until that his usefull experience with honda (gresini racing) all those years help him...
my real first topic discussion, so sorry if its crap,
but i feel that melandri on the gp8 will proberly win or be close to winning the championship next year, he is what capporossi used to be! kick the man hard and he returns with good positions look a laguna this year! etc etc with a factory...
Malaysian GP - Drink causes Melandri problems
Eurosport - Sun, 21 Oct 21:19:00 2007
Marco Melandri overcame a bizarre drink-related problem to finish a brilliant second in the Malaysian Grand Prix.
The Gresini Honda rider's drinking straw, which allows him to take on fluids during the race...
In the past Melandri has been up at the top often in moto gp through his career and he is still quite young.
Next year he has a massive oppurtunity with ducati. HOWEVER..
This year he has had some horrific crashes, injuries and bad luck.. is someone trying to tell him something?
On a bike...
Marco Melandri,
Bionic man!! or Hu man!
Following his return to Italy an MRI scan has revealed a break in his left ankle, the result of a high-speed Laguna Seca crash where he secured a 10th grid position.
A post race quote from Melandri,
"On 5th, 6th lap i had pain in my ankle so i couldnt...
Stoner has absolutely annihilated Caparossi this year and effectively ended his career at ducati.
Anyone beleive Melandri on the same machine as Stoner can match it with him?
Yeah melandri has won a 250 championship 5 years ago now, but only after the reigning champion and runner-up from 2001...
An Australian sports channel said he would be out for the race due to injuries.
Tell me its not true...please. I heard he was fine for the race but i dunno now
Is it just me or is he annoying anyone else?
Its like hes commented that he wont risk breaking bones because the bike isnt safe but like Gresini said he doesnt expect it to win but he does want it further up in the results
In my opinion Melandri has resigned himself to the fact that he wont be...
Its only a 1/3 of the season gone, but he's not a happy camper.Hes not satisfied with the way HONDA has treated him.Or so it seems. His contract is up at the end of 07'.So will he stay you think?Or move on and find a ride with PRAMAC DUCATI or will SUZUKI snatch him up and put money up for a 3...

It does make me wonder if Marco will make the switch to Ducati or Yamaha next year. Honda are renowned for this idiotic view they hold that the rider isn't important in development, and Melandri seems really pissed off.
The way I see it...
Spiderman Bike. Here is a bike I recently finished painting. It’s a 2002 R6. I bought it from a guy that had used it as a track bike. He had painted it blue and orange, and so I thought of painting it something more along my taste. I’m not a professional painter, but I learned a little...
