Guintoli's crash ban
By: Matthew Birt

French MotoGP rookie Sylvain Guintoli’s baptism of fire continued in Sepang today when Yamaha barred him from riding after two crashes on the first two days.
After a first day spill, the Tech 3 rider lost the front end at turn one yesterday.
And while he escaped unhurt from both crashes, he didn’t ride at all on the final day as team bosses and Yamaha agreed it was best for the former 250 privateer to sit it out.

There is concern that Guintoli’s confidence will be shattered before his first MotoGP race in Qatar on March 10, 2007 as he’s made three appearances for Yamaha now and crashed on each occasion.
He broke a collarbone before Christmas while testing a YZR-M1 990cc machine at the Paul Ricard circuit while attending a Dunlop tyre test.

I think you've crossed the line there Rog.

How is he supposed to gain experience and skill if they won't let him ride? If his team won't let him ride then why employ him?
This situation is ridiculous.

The guy's being paid to go out and go as quick as he can which will cause anyone to drop it now and again. On the other hand it could be the probability that if he wrecks one now, it could be Qatar before Yamaha can replace it.

Frenchy has plenty of experience...as a 250 rider and what not... point being he's obviously not coping, i mean come on...he's crashing everytime out!..and it's not as if he's putting in fast laps.. he's 5 secs down from the top!..and still crashing!

maybe he just sucks

Could if be possible that we'll see someone doing WORSE than James Ellison did in 2006 on the Tech3 Yammy in 2007, certainly looks that way

Yeah looks like he might not be a perfect fit for the ride.

Good point. Money might come into it, too. Maybe Herve has realized cheap riders aren't so cheap when they crash so much. Things aren't looking good for Silver Gullotine

well if push comes to shove he can still fetch coffee & sweep out the garages at the end of the day.

I predict that by the end of the season he will beat Tamada.

That's if they don't sack him before.

Good call roger.

What is his pace compared to Tamada's?
I dont expect him to go quick with that machine and especially those tires.
So let him crash, and see what he is made of.
