yamaha the best

i read this yesterday and thought what the hell is Colin talking about. If the bike was as good as he says then why is he not taking podiums and wins.

The yamaha is the best bike on the corners although John Hopkins Suzuki is also pretty good and the ducati aint bad. But on the straight the yamaha is nowhere even in the slipstream of the ducati. If they make the bike a bit quicker down the straights then i think Colin could say this.

You see, even Hopkins says Rossi has a bike advantage compared to Stoner. But still Valentino refuses to give Stoner the credit he deserves.

As an overall package i am fairly sure the yamaha is the best bike out there, it hasn't had much chance to shine yet, but now we go back to Europe i am confident we will see.

funny i didnt see hopper name there, and edwards is hardly going to talk yamaha down is he.
i think on qualifiers the yam mabe the better bike and i think theres a lot more to come from it in the near future but at race pace its not as good as the ducati, anybody who watched the races can see that.

WTF are you smoking? Where has Hopkins said this?

Also, you expect Valentino to be kissing Casey's ...? He has given him plenty of credit!

Ok, my mistake. I meant Collin Edwards.

Yes, I do.

I don't want to bother you to give us a site where we can read Hopkins quote (cuz I know you hate how long it takes you to google and referencing where you get the info is overrated and all), but, according to my tired eyes, I think it was Edwards saying their bike is great. But maybe I need some rest.

Anyway, I agree with Edwards. Their bike is the best. That just shows you how great and flawless Stoner has been. I think perhaps they have had a few problems to explain there lack of wins and podiums for both of them, here is the list of things that have impeeded them: Simply out performed, tires, off track lapses, set-up, Jacque, Pedrosa, and oh yeah, Elias.

thats alright we're used to Toni Elias making mistakes this year.

Just posted while you were posting. But that's weird, you make mistakes?

Hahah, that was freaking funny!!!

sounds like Collin is saying just to ensure that yamaha does not kick him off at the end of thr season. Especially when Rossi can finish on the podium on the same bike while he languishes at the back..

How dull would it be if team mates were as good as each other imagine all the dead heats we'd see.
Almost as dull as reading one of Jumkies long posts.

Edwards have said this all the way, and I suspect that he slightly play down the role of power and rightfully so. Part of why he continue to say this is probably due to last season where they never really sorted the bike. Now it's the oposite, if teh bike is not sorted right out of the truck, they are 100% confident it will soon enough for the race. That must be a great relief for the drivers and the teams. Missing power is one single problem and it is very easy to identify. That's why he says it over all is the best package. That doesn't mean it was the best choise for the tracks they've been to so far.

The ducati has had an advantage on at least two of tracks while Yamaha had the advantage on one track. On the fourth I would say they were quite even, but then there were the tires.....

Anyway, look, I thing Edwards has allot of balls coming out and admitting he is on superior machinery; because this then says he isn't performing well enough (except when "dangerous" riders take him out). I hate when people just make excuses and whine and complain like his teammate has "suddenly." I respect honesty that much more. I admit I'm not an Edwards fan, but him coming out and letting us know he is on a great machine, the best one out there according to him, has increase my respect for the man. Yeah, I'm sure this isn't gonna sit well with those with the Rossie colored glasses, because this makes it more difficult for them to point to Rossi's machine (or Casey's) and begin the rationalizations for Rossi not winning every race. But here it is, for the world to read, the man says the Yamahas are great bikes, I have no reason to doubt him. Unless of course I were a Rossi fan (despite the recent accusations to the contrary that I have a pair of Rossie colored glasses).

Rossi wins--its because he's so marvelous. Rossi loses—its because his bike is .... (or the other guy's bike is a rocket). But here Edwards dispels the myth. Thanks Edwards, your honesty speaks volumes.

Continue Edwards bashing below.

I'll be the basher mate, If I may...

Ok, I could even dig “The best bike”… But if it didn’t come out from “Hell, I think we can even be 1 & 2 this year, a no reason for me not being 1”… or lets go back a year or two and “I'm sure I could be World Champion this season”... and could even try and Google (in Mexico we Gugul) a few more of them quotes.

So Jumkie mate, put on your Rossi colored glasses (we now know you’ve got a pair) and, like Eduards says, “Honestly”… !

sponsors and bike manufacturers pay these riders a lot of money and hope they say good things about them. nothing will get a rider banished more quickly than is he says his bike sucks.

Take Biaggi for example.. Honda made sure none of the motogp satellite teams hired him after they sacked him from the works team. the also made sure he pretty much will never ride a sponsored honda again. All the other Honda riding naysayers better take note.

As honest as Edwards is (and I admire him for that) I think this statement comes at a strategic time, especially when Rossi has not praised the Yamaha as yet.

yes i agree

Edwards

"If you look at it (in qualifying terms), we seem to be doing pretty good but when we don't have grip we suffer. I said ask me about the tyre rule after Turkey or China, and it's ..... Really, I don't like it.

"Michelin used to bring out the magic tyres on Saturday afternoon or Sunday in the warm up, and we don't have that advantage anymore. I think it is hurting the Michelin side at the moment."

No Colin, you're .....

He says its the best bike that is an opinion, and an opinion holds not value past the ones lips it comes from. Has he had a ride on each bike on the track to back his opinion ? No. This is not the 990cc bike its the 800cc so he is saying it is the best bike based on what it has done this season. Hance therefore he is saying his bike is better then Stoner's and therefore Edwards must be on drugs !!
