What on earth is going on with the BMW's?

lex is right, its the electronics and its not a rumour! bmw is stubborn, they have lots of managers (ie lots of ego's) and they refuse to buy their electronics with companies who are more experienced than them.

Both Corser and Haslam are quite severely injured, and neither of them have been terribly competitive this season. IIRC, when they hired Haslam, BMW committed to a complete overhaul of the electronics. As far as I can tell, BMW have gone backwards. The factory BMW team is going to be in a difficult situation, imo, b/c they will probably have the will to continue developing their own electronic system, but they will not have anyone competitive to ride their bike.

Lots of rumors about Suzuki dropping out of MotoGP and fielding a serious WSBK effort through Batta's team which reportedly already has a big sponsor lined up. Interesting news b/c adding competitive teams will only push BMW farther and farther down the field. You'd assume Honda will get their act together as well.

Nice to see racing this weekend. Masterclass from Melandri and Biaggi who were considerably faster than the rest. Big mistake from Checa in Race 1 has made the title race a bit more interesting. Ducati seem to believe that Silverstone and Brno are not going to flatter the Ducati so let's hope things continue to tighten at the front. If Checa gets jittery again, we might have a title chase on our hands.

Congrats to Davies in WSS. I really hope he takes down the title and moves on to bigger and better things. After Spies, the world championships took a closer look at the AMA to see if any more talent could be mined. Chaz is who they should have been looking at, but somehow he was flying under the radar, and was scooped up by ParkinGo who were spearheading and ill-fated WSS/Superbike program that was in its infancy.

I'm not sure if Parkes will recover from this crash. He was hanging on to coattails for the first few rounds. His new found pace seems to correlate with his first win last weekend. I wonder if this crash will shake his confidence. Big gift from Scassa to Davies as well.

The return of Careless Chucker! Should have settled for third. A thoroughly absorbing race. Great to see Sykes finally able to showcase his talent this season. Sad to see Leon languishing mid pack - that BMW just wants to run on into corners. So does Max, and the trademark outbraking himself manoeuvre rears it's ugly head again. Shame Camier ran out of laps. Superb racing between Norge, Syksey, Lascorz and Haga. As Whitham said, based upon the celebrations of Melandri's buxom girlfriend lets hope Yam Italia have sorted that R1 out and has plenty more wins in him! Race 2 should be just as enthralling.

Told you I had the hots for Marco's girlfriend at Silverstone Arrab. Got a feeling that she's unlikely to dump him for me

Poor Marco, he had the bike to win both races and just made a mistake. That is one of the reasons you just go if you have the bike. It worked out in race 1 when he followed Biaggi at his leisure, then passed when he felt it was time to go. The risk you take with hanging around is that you make a small mistake yourself and there is no time to recover. He should have been a little more aggressive at the start, built up a nice cushion in case he did make a mistake. He had the bike to go from lap 1, he should have went.

It looked to me more like he was pushing pretty hard as it was, i think his advantage was much more at the end of the race than it was at the start - middle where Biaggi seemed as strong as him. Good day for both the Italians though.

Superb ride by Chaz davies, his best yet and a seeming significant one for the championship as his rivals both made errors, he looks a mature and class act and hasn't really made a mistake all season. I hope this can continue

I've watched this race and a few others over again...

Neil Hodgson seems to really dislike Biaggi.. This race neither commentator seem to give Biaggi any sort of favor unless it is really do.

I think Neil doesn't like Xaus as well.

Don't get me wrong... i enjoy Hodgson telling it like he sees it.. I just find it funny that there is no hiding the dislike for certain riders..

Neil is yet another rider having history with Max dating back to when he was riding for Dantin and Biaggi was with Honda. As I recall it was another one of the 'Moaning Emperors' obstructive moves during qualifying, resulting in a very ugly scene in Biaggi's garage. I think Hodgson pinned him against the wall and threatened him.

He's never been too enamored with Xaus since they were teammates at Fila Ducati.

Marco Melandri will NEVER be a top tier contender.................... you can just tell by the way he rides, his nerves are like jello. It's the truth. It's just how he is......... the guy is pretty quick on a bike, but cannot control his nerves.
