<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (richo @ Jun 27 2006, 09:02 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>But Rossi's mind games never work as well on riders he`s freindly with (Marco, Hayden, Sete before Qatar '04) as they do with guys he`s not too freindly with. (

Rossi and Marco might get on but Marco cannot take the mental pressure of knowing the Doc is riding up his tail pipes. I remember a few races when he actually asked the guys putting the board out of the pitlane to just display the time gap between him and the rider following him, but not the rider's name!
<
Because he knew he'd screw up if it was Rossi. Don't know if he still does that...

Having said that I agree that Nicky might be consistent, but it's practically impossible he'll get to the end of the season without a single DNF or finishing in some positions worse than second. Nicky's a great rider but he can't set the pace. If Rossi plays his cards well, he can still manage.

You remember right. That was Istanbul last year. Marco won that race.
<
By the end of the race he knew it was Rossi too. The speed at which the gap was being closed told him that
<
I`m not saying it`s easy to be Rossi`s freind and race against him, but he seems to be a bit more leniant on guys he gets along with, which leads to better results, and sometimes even beating him to take a win.

why do u say this? he finished last season without a dnf. & even if he does dnf, what say's rossi won't dnf again. he's had plenty this season already. his luck is leaving him. & with his luck will go his supreme confidence. he's never had it so hard.

That's not true, he crashed out of Donnington. Other than that I believe he finished every race last year.

Ooops! forgot about waterwolrd last year. & with donnington starting tommorro! it's hell gettin older

Correction. Just remembered, he also crashed out of Jerez while in third place chasing down Rossi and Gibbers.

What did you consult your crystal ball? This is a pretty silly statement...if you ask me. he rides with confidence because he's the best.....that's not hero worship....that's based on simple historical fact.....he'll stop winning when he stops having fun.....just like Schwantz.....he said he wasn't having fun anymore.....
If what you said is true....after a horrendous string of "bad luck".....how do you explain his performance in Mugello and Catalunya....?
Not hating on you man..just my opinion..
<
<
<

I thought Rossi`s confidence would take a battering from all this bad luck too, Frosty, but the reality is, he`s still as egotistical and up himself as ever
<
That said, if the luck (or lack thereof) keeps coming, all the confidence in the world won`t save him. His "Master of the bike" "King of mind games" and "Supremely confident" attributes can`t fix the M1 mid race

when pain is present, because of a nasty crash of ur own making, doubt creeps in, confidence wains a bit, & that little bit of edge he has on the others will dull.

You think so, Frosty? I thought he blamed a .... Michelin for the Assen spill.

yeah he said it was still cold or something & it just spun up on him. still gotta make him think abit tho. after all it was his hand controlin the throttle. just a bit to much.

Will be intresting to see how it pans out, but I don`t think it`s really shaken his confidence too much.

nah not that much. his ego's a bit to big to let something like this hold him back for to long. but remember PAIN is the great equalizer.

PAIN would be the great equaliser if they were all dealing with some.
I think RAIN is the great equaliser!!
<

Sorry Dani.....

no..... pain is the great equalizer when it's rossi with the pain. it brings the others closer to him.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Ros @ Jun 30 2006, 08:21 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Oh please, please God, don't let it rain!!

yea after last year let's have a dry british round! would sure suck for mb if it rain's!

Has Pedrosa ever even made the podium in a wet race? Might have to do some research to get the answer to that one.
