Would the introduction of a seamless gearbox to the Yamaha make them unbeatable?

Nope I am just me. There might come a time when some might clone me. But I am me and need no one else.

You will never see me jumping around with a fake ID.

Honda built a seamless gearbox

Yamaha wanted one too but misunderstood

They built a seems less like a gearbox

JL said it don't matter to me

Broke bones or seems less gearbox

If it's painted blue then I can make it win

Haha. Thats funny. I was thinking "why is he replying to my insult". Good reply though Whammy. Youve got potential although you must learn that petty mudslinging is the norm not the exception.

And I would never say Oink Oink to my Grandpa for fear of a beating. Very true.

Ducati have had it for 2 years now. According to Dovi it works well, but (as apparent in Ducati's case) it is hardly a big game changer.

According to moto mini matters the Yamaha is only half seamless whereas the Honda is a full seamless box.

Yamaha would be better served if they resorted to stealing technology and riders from Honda.

Oh wait a min - that's how they got Rossi and ECU programmers. Been there, done that, must be harder now.

Actually the "ECU programmers" went from Yamaha to Honda in 2010, not the other way around.  "Stealing" Rossi happened in 2003/4 so very old news.

Boom!  lol... yamaka46 is correct...

Also, don't forget Suppo, Stoner & crew all being ripped from Ducati too...  Honda is a mutant, Yam engineers, Ducati rider, team boss & crew = 2011 championship...

Yep ......... you guys are right. JB was a tire boy at Honda before he and Rossi went to Yamaha. Silly of me to think that JB took fuel maps and traction control data with him when he moved. An engineer he is not :)

JB is NOT an "ECU programmer", which is what you were talking about.

I am an engineer and work for JLR (Jaguar LandRover) developing software and calibrating said software for the engine ECU.  That I can do.  JB's job, however....  Regardless of how useless some people (who have no concept of what he does) think he is, JB has, at the very minimum, not ...... up the bikes ridden by Rainey, Doohan and Rossi.  I am sure I couldn't guarantee even that level of ability.  The Duc was ...... before he started and is still ...... after he left.

However, the concept of taking fuel maps & TC data (calibration data in both cases) from one manufacturer to another is meaningless unless they have the same ECU software (and hardware) supplier.  We transitioned from Denso to Bosch and the calibration was anything but carry over. Of course JB took experience from Honda to Yamaha and then to Ducati, but as others have said, being told there is a problem is not the same as being able (or willing) to fix it.

As I said, the coup of Yamaha stealing Rossi & hence JB from Honda happened 10 years ago, the coup of Honda stealing Yamaha "ECU programmers" happened 3 years ago.  Which is likely to be more relevant to todays ECU software & calibration?

Try to talk about something you actually understand or you run the very real risk of looking stupid.

You have got so technical that you have lost yourself. Let me help you.

A software developer is someone who writes the code ( what you claim to be )

An ECU programmer is the person who flashes the code to the chip ( what JB is )

Try not to let your big words and deep thoughts run you around in circles.

Wow that explains a lot. Not exactly something I would want to tell people...
