The presence of Winston on the Hondas of Team Ten Kate in the World Superbike and Supersport championships has been an undeniable success: two Supersport world titles (2005/06), with French ace Sebastien Charpentier, and two Superbike titles with world vice-champions Chris Vermeulen in 2005 and James Toseland this year.

Winston is leaving international motorsport and its sponsorship of the World Superbike and Supersport championships in the full knowledge that the brand has gained huge benefits from its partnership with Honda and Team Ten Kate. It will leave an indelible mark on the history of Winston in the world of motorsport.

Our special and heartfelt thanks for the past two years go to Honda Europe, Team Ten Kate, and to all the riders who have flown our colors and all the fans who have
accompanied us.

thats not good. the tobbacco money is leaving. fortuna's left gresini. only a matter of time before marlboro & all tabbacco leaves motorsport for good. hope that money can be replaced!
 
Marlbor is there until 2012 season.
We better get some sponsors coming in!

I hear some companies want to sponsor teams but will not sponsor a team if there are tobacco sponsors in the league.

oh no. if this turns out to be true it will create a huge problem for dorna. there's that big red wall they'd have to knock down. that would be very bad for ducati.

Thats a shame quite liked the white and blue livery that Winson brought to the team.

Like F1 if all tobacco sponsers pulled out, there are a few other large companies out there to sponser, inc the mobile phone giants, shell etc..

It seems Funny for such a technical sport Ive never known Microsoft to sponser anyone??
 
It's an intresting idea, Dazz, but do Microsoft sponsor ANYTHING?

They're probably not intrested in the idea. Sadly, I know if I was a heatless, number-loving executive, I could find much more cost efficient ways of advertising than Motorsport sponsorship.

Microsoft don't need any advertising.. when you switch on your computer, you get a big thing saying WINDOWS.. when you switch off your computer, another big thing saying WINDOWS..

And in 20 years time.. you will have a big chip in your head saying MICROSOFT

Ten Kates new Sponsor is Hamspree (Rolfo's) personal sponsor. The 2nd rider alongside James Toseland is Roberto Rolfo
